i missed tonights game, but i know both kobe and pau had off nights. But pau hasnt been that mvp worthy since maybe week 2. He has been getting punked around the basket nightly. Lots of guys need to pick it up starting with both kobe and pau. But im not worried, all these losses have been razor thin games and bynum is supposed to be back within a month or less.

Maybe we could give the grizzlies some credit. Conely lit the lakers up. Gay had 6 blocks, and the rest of the grizz helped pull of a win against the defending champs.

I’m not nor have I ever been a Lakers fan by any means. That being said, I still can’t think of anyone I would rather have than Kobe as my go to guy in a big game. Pau has played well, but Kobe’s game goes to another level when the game is on the line. (And it tears me up inside.)

Why are you guys over rating Gasol like that?  MVP?  Did you forget how his teams flamed out when he was the Man in Memphis?  He is playing with the best player in the league and looking a better than he really is.  I’m not saying he is not good, he may be the best PF in the NBA, but don’t call him MVP.  This team would not be top 4 seed without Bryant.

 Agree with d-grizzly, the Grizzlie are much imroved, but at thi spoint i think to much kobe is a good thing Pau is playin not great but well, i think Odom has stepped it up a notch this season an Shannon Brown is much improved an also the addition of steve blake. The supporting cast is much better in years past so Kobe can afford to tone it down a lil and save himself for the playoffs. I think at sum point Phil Jackson should address this to Kobe if he awready hasnt.

And kobe has trusted his teammates in playoff games with game winning shots. So dont know if your memory is very clear on kobe’s late game mometns. so what about the utah game a few days ago where he passed to artest to take the open shot and he didnt make any faces? If he did it last night, he must have not been happy with rons decision. They didnt all project the heat to win the finals or be better in the playoffs, but regular season the majority gave the heat the advantage over everyone. Kobe’s strength is also a weakness.

When the Lakers are down, he tries to do it all by himself. He’s capable of that and has done it many times, but when he’s off, he alienates his teamamtes. I can understand if his teammates didn’t have it going, but he didn’t really give them a chance.

Pau should’ve gotten A LOT more touches in the fourth quarter (he had Thabeet defending him), but Kobe was gunning. And that last shot was ridiculous… Kobe was mad at Artest, but he needs to look in the mirror. He should’ve shot the ball instead of jumping in the air and then passing.
