Those players don’t stand a chance in Sin City…Seatle is 1st in line if the team was ever sold and relocated…It need’s to happen sooner or later…why not after the Lock Out…

no way sacramento moves, the Arco Arena is consistently one of the loudest arenas in the league with a fanactical fan base, SHaq said he hated playing their during the playoff series against them in the early 2000’s.

You cant just suggest relocation to fix the process of rebuilding.

Moving a team back to Seattle would be a decent idea but to revive the Sonics name would seem like a step backwards and fans would be torn between that team and the old team now in Oklahoma. The team could easily find a moniker maybe the Seattle Speed, Seattle Superman, Seattle Sound etc.

The idea of a team in Las Vegas would be appealing to the NBA and would generate a lot of gambling revenue around the games, also the city would have the finances to support the team and could surely provide a multi purpose arena for the franchise. The only thing that might be negative about a team in Vegas would be if the players were drawn into the nightlife and all the surrounding attractions as this could be a major distraction for the players. Also the team would probably want star names and not be prepared to build how new franchises have to so moving a team there would be better than putting an expansion franchise there.

Looking at the Forbes Sports Rich list, basketball certainly lacks well behind Football, American Football and Baseball for team values. Although of the football teams listed only Real Madrid isn’t fully or partly American owned with the Glazers who own Manchester United FC also owning Tampa Bay Bucks and Stan Kroenke who owns 30% of Arsenal FC having a wide sports franchise ownership across NBA, NFL etc.

There was an interesting story in the UK recently where Liverpool F.C were sold to John Henry who owns the Boston Red Sox from Tom Hicks and George Gillett. Hicks and Gillett had brought the club in 2007 but added debt onto it and the fans turned against them over the last year or so staging lots of demonstrations and things were turning very ugly before Hicks and Gillett were forced to sell up before the banks took over the team. On their first day at the club, Hicks and Gillett had been briefed by their PR people about the team’s history ( 18 League Titles, 5 European Cups) and they did all the hard sell and then refered to the club as a franchise! You could almost hear Bill Shankly one of Liverpool’s greatest ever managers spinning in his grave!

You know Phil Knight went to University of Oregon, right? I mean, that is why he spent money building a new stadium, that is named after his son (Not to mention the Knight Law School and Knight Library, no joke). His allegiance to our school is what causes him to donate as much as he has (Not to mention numerous college/high school teams have been given healthy donations by Phil and Nike). So, besides Donald Sterling going away, I do not see him putting a red cent into moving the Clippers anywhere and have heard exactly 0 interest in someone buying the team (Who can afford it, not just someone on this board who would say "I WOULD BUY THEM"). Plus, plenty of teams share stadiums, so I do not see why that is a huge issue. Seattle will eventually get another team, but I have 0 belief that team will be the Clippers. Also, why do you think the Kings should move to San Diego? What is the reasoning behind that? They have owners who actually care about the team. I would think San Diego getting a team would be cool, it is a great city, but why the Kings? LA can obviously support 2 teams, and while the Clippers have always been the Lakers little brother, they have always been everyones little brother, they are a historically bad franchise who probably will not change until as you said, Donald Sterling hits the dusty trail. Paul Allen already owns the Blazers, otherwise he would definitely do something with Seattle. That dude bought the Seahawks just so they would not leave the city, he does not even like football. It has always been rumored that the Blazers would eventually move to Seattle, which would suck, SO MUCH, but again it is a rumor and has yet to come to close to happening. It is just that Paul has serious love for that city and all of his crew (Trader Bob Whittsitt, etc.) were Seattle folk. But, since Paul Allen apparently loves the Blazers, and is apparently cool with them being in P-Town, he can not help Seattle gigantic Starbucks F-up (Sell it to the guy from Oklahoma, he’ll fix everything). Unfortunately also for Seattle, with as many billionaires as they seemingly have in their backyard, none have stepped up to the plate to try and bring a team there. Bill Gates has shown virtually no interest in sports, maybe because he didn’t play any as a kid (He really didn’t), so that seems like another no go. It is in Phil Knights best interest to not own a sports franchise, so he can still make uniforms for all of them (2012 baby, hope they get that contract, they already picked up NFL). So, in other words, Seattle has to foot the bill for a new arena with tax payer dough (not easy), find a billionaire with a vision or just hope that some team leaves their city to play in Seattle.  Oh but to answer the question they have to leave LA.  I hate when any city has two sports teams because its like cheating when they win.  But also because there are so many great cities who should have one before another city has two.

But the main reason was watching the Clippers play home games with the Lakers hardwood still on the floor is a disgrace.

the problem is they will still be there clippers. you dont lose that many times that often just because youre in the same place as another nba team. the kings managed to get better as well as the teams out in texas. the problem seems to be the owner and the players. Some thought it was the coach and didnt give the players as much blame as they should have gotten
