Tyran Stokes 6’8, 230 SF – Undecided
24 MIN, 29 PTS, 7 AST, 8 REB, 1 STL, 3 BLK, 9-17 FG, 2-6 3PT, 9-13 FT
Stokes showcased his well-rounded game and superior talent en route to MVP honors. He scored at all three levels, knocking down step-back threes and pulling up off the dribble while also finishing consistently at the rim. He used his strength to overpower defenders, and combined with his burst and ability to convert tough shots from various angles, he was extremely difficult to contain. As usual, he added several highlight dunks while also impacting the game as a rebounder and passer, tying for the game high in assists.
Bruce Branch 6’7, 195 SF – BYU
24 MIN, 20 PTS, 3 AST, 12 REB, 0 STL, 1 BLK, 7-11 FG, 2-3 3PT, 4-10 FT
Branch filled up the stat sheet and showcased a versatile scoring package. He shot well from distance, added a few dunks, and finished with creative layups at the rim. He showed a solid midrange game with step-backs and the ability to score in the post using his length and footwork. He also led the game in rebounds. While efficient from the field and effective at drawing fouls, he struggled from the free throw line.
Jaxon Richardson 6’5, 205 SG – Alabama
24 MIN, 17 PTS, 0 AST, 4 REB, 0 STL, 2 BLK, 7-9 FG, 0-0 3PT, 3-3 FT
Richardson closed out his high school career in expected fashion, putting up points while showcasing elite athleticism. Many of his buckets came on highlight plays, including an open floor windmill and a reverse alley-oop. He thrives off the ball, consistently moving and cutting hard, and does most of his scoring off assists. All four of his rebounds came on the offensive glass, and he added a couple of blocks defensively.
Carlos Medlock 5’11, 165 PG – Michigan State
21 MIN, 13 PTS, 7 AST, 3 REB, 2 STL, 1 BLK, 6-11 FG, 1-5 3PT, 0-0 FT
Medlock was aggressive from three-point range, hitting one early but continuing to fire despite defensive pressure. He’s a strong ball-handler who can create for himself, as shown when he froze a defender for a midrange jumper, and he consistently created for others out of pick-and-roll situations, tying the game high with seven assists. While not an explosive athlete, he’s quick getting downhill and showed touch finishing on scoop layups at different angles.
Tarris Bouie 6’6, 170 SF – Alabama
16 MIN, 11 PTS, 0 AST, 2 REB, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 5-7 FG, 1-3 3PT, 0-0 FT
Bouie was efficient in limited minutes, contributing primarily as a scorer. He finished in transition with a dunk and scored on putbacks and a smooth up-and-under left-handed layup. He also knocked down a three after a behind-the-back move, flashing some perimeter ability.
Colben Landrew 6’6, 235 SF – UConn
12 MIN, 10 PTS, 4 AST, 5 REB, 2 STL, 0 BLK, 3-8 FG, 0-3 3PT, 4-4 FT
Landrew forced a few perimeter looks early but found more success attacking downhill. He used his strength well to initiate contact and finish at the rim. He handles the ball effectively for his size and can beat defenders off the dribble. Overall, he had a solid showing, contributing as a rebounder and passer while converting all four free throw attempts.
JJ Andrews 6’6, 220 SF – Arkansas
20 MIN, 10 PTS, 0 AST, 3 REB, 1 STL, 0 BLK, 5-8 FG, 0-2 3PT, 0-0 FT
Andrews played with energy but didn’t fully showcase his skill set. A skilled lefty with perimeter ability, all of his points came on simple finishes, including offensive rebounds, cuts, alley-oops, and transition dunks. He delivered the game-winner to reach the target score and still flashed his athleticism and motor.
Adonis Ratliff 6’11, 215 PF – USC
10 MIN, 9 PTS, 2 AST, 2 REB, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 3-4 FG, 2-2 3PT, 1-2 FT
Ratliff operated more on the perimeter than expected for his size, showing effectiveness as a shooter both off the catch and off the dribble with a side-step move. He also displayed solid passing instincts, connecting with JJ Andrews on back-to-back cuts.
DaKari Spear 6’5, 190 SG – Texas Tech
14 MIN, 6 PTS, 1 AST, 0 REB, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 3-9 FG, 0-4 3PT, 0-0 FT
Spear didn’t provide much outside of scoring, but he showed shot-making ability despite the numbers. He struggled from three but was effective in the midrange, knocking down contested shots while staying balanced.
Dionte Neal 5’9, 150 PG – UNC Greensboro
19 MIN, 6 PTS, 2 AST, 0 REB, 0 STL, 0 BLK, 2-9 FG, 2-4 3PT, 0-0 FT
Neal handled the ball well and showed quickness creating off the dribble, though he struggled to finish inside due to his size. He did flash playmaking and had one of the highlight moments of the game, crossing his defender and knocking down a three.
Darius Ratliff 6’11, 210 C – USC
16 MIN, 5 PTS, 0 AST, 4 REB, 0 STL, 1 BLK, 2-3 FG, 1-1 3PT, 0-3 FT
Ratliff scored on a catch-and-shoot three and an offensive rebound putback. He contributed modestly otherwise, grabbing a few boards and blocking a shot. He showed some shooting touch but missed all three free throws after being fouled on a three-point attempt.
