Williams or Sloan
DWill is a Star, some say this is what he is a Star, Not a SuperStar in the upper echelon of Players that NBA favor. Regardless of How some people feel i think he is a great player and Can be a franchise player (SuperStar) for the right team. JSloan was with the Jazz for 20something years you would think owership would go with the coach in this situation, but i guess this is a Player's league & Coaches can be replaced. I just hope this does'nt hurt DWill with the fanbase in Utah.
I take sloan ridiculous amount of winning seasons d will is just of his hundreds of players he has been successful with
The loyalty of any real Jazz fan belongs with Jerry Sloan and Phil Johnson.
Let's trade Williams to the Nets for Derrick Favors, Devin Harris and a few draft picks.
If you have a player that is special you always take player over Coach. MJordan over DCollins/Shaq over VanGundy/M.Johnson demanded a trade Unless P.Westphal was fired, he was gone the next day. SuperStars/Franchise Guy's should have that much authority if they can lead a team to Chips.
jjonz presentation is half the excitement a title like "D will is a jerk" would have been waaaayyyy more controversial.
But I agree trade his ass but to the Knicks
Curry, 2035 1st round pick, Wilson Chandler, Isiash Thomas' sexual harrassment case, and of course Anthony Randolph and his life size potentials for Dwill :)
WizKid, that don't work in NBA trade machine. You gotta throw in Spike Lee to balance out the salaries.
But if Owners believe that Sloan is Over & if they Believe that DWill is more important then you take player Over Coach. I know if Jack Haley had a Problem with PhilJax. Haley would have gotten the AX. But Sloan has had Success since the short short days. I just wish they could have continue to get better. Now the ? is will DWill stay.
@Kid from Korea
What is your age group and where are you from? O__O
He would scare a ton of people in Utah, Big Black dude wallking around looking for Barbeque Ribs. But yeah I'll work on presentation next time I make a thread.
I dunno Wizkid, last time I fell for asl, Chris Hansen and 20 guys wearing SWAT gear broke into my neighbours house, then apologized, then knocked on my door. Not falling for that one again...
where is my point.
btw wizkid, I see you, with your dragonball z character. I counter with Chiaotzu, greatest power level of all time, OF ALL TIME. But ya, I'm from Ontario Canada, and I'm 20. If you don't like that, I can be a 16 year old girl depending on how much money you have.
But what if we don't have money?
Would you put on some lipstick for me anyway?
I also accept cheeseburgers.
Good answer Krillin would also have been acceptable
Back to jjonz point though, as I stated in the other thread:
"I think from a front office point of view, you usually side with the player over the coach (especially if it's a player of Deron's caliber), but there a few coachs in the league you side with first, and Sloan is definitely one of them."
Why are you swagger jackin WizKid?
awww man, I ain't no swagger jacker. Can't another grown man show some love to Dragonball Z? I also got a lot of respect for Wizkid too. If it bothers you that much, I can change it.
Your cool bro just dont get on mess.ee's bad side you will enter the "Knicksboy" zone and get a nasty thread about you
Aight, I'll keep that in mind. mess.eee I will sacrifice a basketball by burning one in your name every month. I hope that will keep you satisfied. I just hope I don't end up in TLI's basement, then I'll really be in trouble...
father and son?
It looks like the Jazz have made their choice. And enless he requests a trade or leaves via free agency hes not going anywhere.
Deron Williams is en elite player in my opinion, an he is the best PG in the league imo. I think he doesnt have the hype around him that CP3, or the team that Rondo has, or maybe not as exciting as Derrick Rose. D.Rose got the best of him last night but he is juss as good as any 1 of those guys i just mentioned.
d wills azz been traded in less then a second if this is my descion yes i know sloan has never won the big one but you cant really get mad when every year your teams making the play offs and being competive when u dont have the most talented team around wow is really all that comes to mind here
The Utah fans dont even know what they are going to do, but I know. Youre going to boo him. Utah is gonna get blown out at home one day, Williams is gonna show frustration, not try on a play, and you guys are gonna boo him. You are gonna blog, tweet, post all kinds of horrible things about him. He is going to leave for New York, New Jersey, Dallas, or Orlando, or wherever and you guys are going to lose Sloan, Williams and probally miss the playoffs. Damn!
LMAO that is some hilarous stuff KidfromKorea. Legend in the making...
Wait a second, how do you know about TLIs basement! What is your true identity!
Your learning fast daniel son. What the almighty Mcdunkin has passed down to me I shall pass down to you
"Wait a second, how do you know about TLIs basement! What is your true identity!"
Wondering the same thing...
People, people, people. Stop with the accusing finger. This resignation is no one's fault. This was all Jerry's decision. A part of the decision was Deron's doing but a small part the bulk of it was Jerry's decision and his alone. Trading a player just because he disagrees with the coach is not the answer. This will only cause further disruption and further confusion. This resignation, this change was inevitable, meaning it was bound to happen. I firmly believe that even if Dwill did not react the way he did yesterday, Jerry Sloan would still have to resign. The Jazz need a change. Dwill knew this and wanted it to happen in order to start winning because he hates losing so much.
While he (Dwill) may be the team leader, he is still only a player on the Jazz, and as such he does not decide whether or not a trade or a coaching change happens. Upper management decides that. Jerry has a little more control because he can decide if he wants to retire or not, which is exactly what happened, but he does not decide who to coach in his stead nor whether or not he leaves via fire. He decides whether he leaves via retirement and that alone. Dwill is second in command on how his team reacts to the opposition and how they play, not whether or not a change needs to happen. He knows this, so even though he wants a change to happen, he can do nothing in that respect. And so to try and "influence" Jerry's decision (although once again this "influence" played a small part in Jerry's decision, he chose whether or not to resign not Deron for him) he reacted the way he did, and then to further try and "influence" upper management's decision to change the system in Utah, by threatening to leave unless a change happened. Can you blame him? He can do nothing else because the little control he has in the direction the team heads.
Now I do not propose that players be given more control into the direction of the team, on the contrary, I am merely supporting dwill's intentions because he could see that a change was emminent. Now I do not agree that Dwill should have acted that way, but his intentions are honorable. His actions no, but his intentions, yes. A player should not be punished for merely voicing his opinion. (that's exactly what Deron was doing)
I truly believe that this change is exactly what Utah needed to wakeup and get their act together. I firmly believe that this change will convince Dwill to stay and also cause Utah's fortunes to change for the better. This change, this resignation, was inevitable.
D-Will caused Sloan to get fired. Melo is going here or there,Lebron is the leader now,KG insults this person. Can we just have NBA basketball and no soap operas. Please.
LOL @ no soap operas. Sadly this is a mans soap opera. As of late it has become less of a soap opera and more of a chick flick lol. Everyone crying because their stars leave town, and their coach did this, and oh poor me Im getting benched at 12Mil per year, how am I gonnna feed my kids. STFU Richard Hamilton, they can bench my azz at 12mil a year anyday you big baby.
I'd go with Sloan all day.
I found it funny that during the press conference, they kept making it an emphasis that players come and go, but the franchise will remain. And they made it an emphasis to say that they supported the next coach and bascially that the players better fall in line.
I definitely thinkWilliams had A LOT to do with Sloan stepping down.
To be honest Its been like 8 hours and im over it.This is a buisness and not even Sloan can escape that.
And of course Sloan is way too classy to say that Williams had anything to do with his decision.
Man, I'll miss him. He would really stand up for his players. Sloan in his gray-haired years squared up to Dennis Rodman after he hit John Stockton. That's something we may never see again.
Even something like this shows you what kind of coach Sloan is.
Sloan roamed the sidelines in Utah for 23 years... I think it's completely fine if this topic gets at least a days worth of discussion. Is that okay with you?
No disrespect to the great Head Coach at all, but Im just saying Im over it. Thats my own two cents, hes still the face of the Jazz imo. Seriously I didnt say stop tyalking about it, I didnt say we should all forget about it, Im just personally not hurt by this. Its not a sad day, he had a great career one of the greatest in this leagues history for a player or Coach. Had to end someday right...
I'm not "hurt" by it either, but as a fan of the game... I had respect for Sloan.
He didn't win any titles, but not everything can measured by that. He meant a lot to that organization and stood for the right things in my opinion. I just think a man who meant that much and who'd been there for so long should've been able to leave the game better than this. Him resigning during the middle of the season because of a crybaby diva "superstar" isn't the way I'd have liked to see it end for him.
Jerry Sloan in a heartbeat...
Listen...Deron Williams pushed Sloan out. He wanted him gone, they argued more then 3 times according to Jazz beat writers. He didn't want to be there with Sloan there.
You what this says to me? Williams is a punk ass.
Sad day to see Jerry go, hopefully tyrone corbin will give the jazz a new identity and style they so need. Once again sad to see jerry go but now it's time to see what corbin will bring.
Jerry Sloan is a great coach, but I don't think we have enough information about what actually went on to make between him and Deron other than they argued a few times. Lets face it, this is a player's league, and superstar players probably get into disagreements with their coaches all the time behind the scenes I bet. I'm not trying to say Sloan is a quitter, but I don't honestly believe Deron pushed him out either. In my opinion, Sloan probably made a rash decision. He is known as a hard nosed coach, and it's hard for a coach to coach like that in this age with "Diva" superstars. I don't think Deron is necessarily a selish player, and it is just hard for me to also believe that these disagreements were things that could not be patched up. Sloan has done a lot for the Jazz, and I feel like the Jazz should give him something back in return for his loyalness, but the Jazz would be fine with letting Sloan go over trading Deron especially when Deron is the main reason why they are competitive. Sports is always about what have you done for me lately...
I dont care im not budging, call me the bad guy all you want I just dont give a shiiit if he got pushed out lol. Hes got 23 years worth of NBA Salary as a Head Coach why should I feel bad for him, why should any of you people feel bad for him. Hes going to the Hall of Fame, whether or not he had an honourable exit or not doesnt matter, he had an honourable career and Im sure he doesnt want us to be weeping over the fact he lost his job. How many peoples jobs do you think he had takern away, how many people do you think he cut from the organization? Are you kidding me feel bad for him lmao, I lost my job as well lol digging holes in the rain, blew my knee out and lost my whole career in digging holes lmao. I dont have a nice 15-mil I can sit back on I gotta go look for a new job with a torn legiment, no automobile, bills that need to be paid, a girlfriend lmao so when asked if Im going to feel bad for Sloan my awnser is most definitely FUUUUCKKKKKKK NO!!!!!!!!!
For anyone who has been saying D-Will is the best PG in the league, then he is rightfully considered a superstar. Its unfortunate that D-Will and Sloan got into an argument, and its unfortunate that Sloan and Johnson couldn't get on the same page with O'Connor, but this doesn't mean that D-Will all of a sudden drops down to just a star. The guy still has superb talent. Sloan has been around forever and this break, or retirement, will be good for him.
Kid from Korea....reveal yourself.
Something just isn't right about you....far too funny....you also know things that a new poster wouldn't know...who are you?
Or are you.......the chosen one?
I've been an avid follower of this site. I spent most of my time honing my skills in the Himalayan mountains. Under tough conditions, it was my duty to make you all laugh. Make you all cry. Make you all laugh and cry so much it makes you pass gas and blame it on your dog. You can say, I came out of the proverbial closet after sweetly biding my time.
Naw honestly, I been reading for a while. I have a lot of weird thoughts in my head throughout the day with no outlet, so I made an account. This is just the beginning....
I would also like to add that today, February 10, 2011, is truly a bittersweet day. One of the greatest coachs of all time steps down, while one of the greatest shooters of all steps up in the record books. Big shout out to Ray Allen for having the wettest J ever. It's too bad his dad, Denzel, is in jail...
Hes decieving us, Kid from Korea is the nbadraft.net antichrist!
