Why not this trade?
Honestly the main thing the would stop this trade, is that westbrook would complain about going to a rebuilding team, he will then go off on how the thunder disrespected him and how much he did for them and so on and create a whole new drama story. As a nets fan i have no problem with this because neither are going to want to stay with NJ/Brookyln so it doesn't really make a difference
This is one of the better deals I've seen on this site. However, given Brook Lopez's foot problems, I don't know how this would go over with Nets management. They're out of the Howard sweepstakes for sure. Though Westbrook is a great building block, I don't know how well he'd coexist with Marshon Brooks in the back court, a guy that's looking for every opportunity to score as well. Also, the Thunder would have to give up more than Westbrook to make this work, probably. But if everyone involved was healthy and willing, I like this deal, I think it's fair.
I'll be happy to take it, but what does it do for us in having Westbrook as our #1 option (building around), which is what he will have to become?
In Jersey, he would be going to a Lotto bound team, from a potential Championship team in OKC, which clearly indicates he won't have patience at all with anyone. Once DSteve starts chucking & missing, it will get the best of him mentally. I just can't see Westbrook being a happy camper with us. He won't re-sign with us, so that would be put us right back to square 1. GET HELP & GET HELP QUICK!
The best vivid picture I can paint is.....
L.A<------|||||L.O------>Dallas :'/ KD<-----|||||Westbrook------>NJ/BK :'/
If I was NJN I would be call'n 2 OKC asap, cuz Durant and Westbrook jus had a fight yesterday probly about Durant not get'n the ball enough, and Williams is already say'n the team doesn't have wat it takes and there not goin 2 get Dwight with Lopez out, jus add acouple more players from OKC so the salaries can match. and it look's like a good deal 2 me.
The Thunder are one of the youngest teams in the league and have gotten better each of the past 3 seasons reaching the conference finals last year. They are now 3-0 , Durants getting his shots, 20 shots per game averaging 32 points. Why trade Westbrook? If its not broken dont fix it.
I've seen players argue like that before, the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. Thunder are still the team to beat in the West so why trade away your 2nd best player who is a crucial part of the team.
the Nets are going to get Howard and everyone knows it. The only reason there hasnt been a trade is because Lopez is hurt and can't pass a physical right now. Playing with D12 in a mjor market after the Nets move... I could see Westbrook being happy about this.

With this being said...Westbrook would not resign if we don't bring in any help as will DWill.
I cannot see NJ's owner wanting D-Will to be traded so soon after getting him and considering they gave up Favours and a top 3 pick in the 2011 draft to get him. Westbrook might be at D-Will's level soon but I don't see him being there yet, would NOH have agreed to Westbrook for CP3?
The deal would be interesting if OKC could balance it out salarywise maybe Nazr, Robinson and if they threw in Ibaka then I wonder what NJ would think. Ibaka could compliment Brook Lopez nicely and OKC keep all the rest of their supporting cast and Aldrich or Collinson could fill Ibaka's minutes.
Who said Dwight Howard was going to the Nets ? I mean why in the &$#%#[email protected]! would the Magic take Brook Lopez for Dwight when they might be able to get Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol for Dwight and Turkoglu?
And besides I rather have Bynum for Dwight straight up then Lopez for Dwight straight up because Bynum actually knows what defense and what a rebound is unlike Lopez does .Heck Lopez shouldnt be more valuable then Bargani is because he is just as bad at defensive end of the court then he is and Bargani is a better scorer then Lopez is so I dont know how everyone just so happens to know that Dwight is going to the Nets
Russell Westbrook for Deron Williams striaght up
Heres why
Thunder:Remember those CP3 for Westbrook trade thoughs?Well why not Williams for Westbrook?IMO I think Durant has the potential to actually be better then MJ and win more titles then he did but if Westbrook is there it will never happen.Durant can actually become the greatest player of all time but Westbrook doesnt understand that and he wants to be like Derrick Rose.As for Deron Williams I think he would thribe being the Thunder pg and make Durant and this team better and lead them to the finals.Think about it Durant has been averaging 30 point per game with Westbrook who shot 17 shots a game last year with Durant and getting 8 assist per game which can easily be because of Durant .Now Deron Williams has never averaged more then 17 shots a game in his carreer with no superstar and Williams also has averaged more then 9 assist per game every year of carreer (besides his rookie year) without a superstar.
Nets:If Deron Williams gets to that point were he says he doesnt wanna be a Net in the future this trade is perfect for them.Westbrook is still super young and actually has the potential to better then Deron Williams.I think he can be like Dwayne Wade but at Pg with more assist and on the Nets this is were he can have his own team and be that star.Speaking of that star thats what that Russian owner wants when his team moves to Brooklyn and Westbrook can be that guy
