Rookie of the Year?
Griffin, Evans or Flynn. Griffin should be able to force the coach to find minutes. Evans has almost zero talent around him and will be free to do as he likes. And if Rubio does'nt come over, then Flynn will be in the same situation as Evans where he will be given the keys from day one.
I like DeRozan a lot and think the Wolves should have paired him up with Rubio in the back court. Imagine Rubio pushing the ball and DeRozan filling the wings, that could have been fun. But he probably is not in the disscusion for rookie of the year.
1.Curry cause he can shoot and can play in warriors high tempo ,he will be perfect match
2.Jennings if he gets playing time then hes rookie for sure
I just hope that in this years situation dont work out like in some years when ROY was the fan favourite player not the best player and in this case that can be Griffin or Evans
Curry or nobody else i am a big curry fan since his Freshman Year and i wanted him to go to the Knicks but that did'nt happen because of Warriors and i think there only one team stephen would be rookie of the year with is the knicks and the warriors are very selfish because they have ellis and that's JUST an older player than stephen and that the only different.so STEPHEN SHOULD sign a one year contract and then sign with the knicks because he might not even get minutes
#1 Blake Griffen: Too much talent to bet against...
#2 Stephen Curry: Phoenix? Golden State? Either way he is in a stat-friendly system where he can score at will, and not have to worry about playing defense.
#3 Jonny Flynn/Ricky Rubio: I don't know what to think here. If Rubio stays in Spain, Flynn's only competition is... Telfair. He will get a ton of minutes and he has the talent/leadership to make a big difference. He has the stamina to score in bunches and Minnesota will be counting on him. If Rubio comes to Minnesota, he has the skills to lead all rookies in assists and steals. His defensive prowess, professionalism and unselfishness should result in more wins and coachs love players like that.
Your kinda new to this whole basketball thing are'nt you?
Are you serious? You are calling a team selfish because they picked a player you wanted? That is just stupid.
evans- will have the ball in his hands a lot and will want to score with it
rubio- main pg without any outside threats, will get assists to al/love and points from open shots on perimeter
curry- perfect for high octane offense, lots of shooting, lots of points, not much defense, but who cares
derozan- only wingman on roster so far with any talent, different from all the shooters on the team
clark- steve nash will get him many open shots and earl with thrive in system
it won't work out for them and when the regular seasons over they will have the best chance of winning 1ST Overall pick in the 2010 draft. Then you would say to your self that Noel2420 is a genius BUT you on't forget about me cause i'm leaving my email noel.forde@yahoo.com Then every body would come for me about advice. the number on topic would be my favorite team New York Knickerbocker watch MSG and see the Knicks will improve 8 games this season write it down one and a lifetime chance to hear this informatation
I'm not gonna take advice from someone who thinks that Curry should only sign a one year deal so that he could leave after his rookie year.
Yeah, you are the selfish one and are in no way, shape or form a genius.
who do you think will be the best second rounder next year?
blair- will put up great rebounding numbers and lots of garbage points playing on a good team..might be a starter even
budinger- will get lots of open shots with yao on his team, if he hits them he will put up big numbers
jerebko- thought he would be in the first round.. really big guy who will get lots of burn with the supposedly rebuilding pistons and i think he will impress
The contenders:
Mike Dunleavy says he wants to keep everyone, which I think is a mistake unless Griffin starts immediately, as he should. If the Clippers don't move Zach Randolph or Marcus Camby, I don't see how Griffin gets enough minutes to put up R.O.Y.-type numbers. Tough to tell what's gonna happen with such an inept franchise. If Griffin gets the minutes though, he's at the top of the list, but Griffin is the only sure thing from this draft.
Next I would say is Jonny Flynn. Rubio's probably gonna stay in Spain, and Flynn will be the starter, which makes the T-Wolves drafting two PGs not look so dumb after all.
Stephen Curry seems tailor-fitted for Golden State's offense and should be a weapon from day one. I see him being one of the best shooters in the league from the get-go. The main question for him, like with Griffin, is playing time. They just got Acie Law AND Speedy Claxton. Add that to the fact that Nelson doesn't like to play rookies often, and his chances dwindle. Still a contender, though.
The Sleepers:
Hasheem Thabeet: Pretty hard to call the #2 overall pick a sleeper, but no one here seems to be giving him a chance. I think he can instantly be one of the best shotblockers in the league and with his height can pull down 10+ RPG. However, his body is a big concern, and they already have Marc Gasol. Even so, he should be at least be in the discussion
Gerald Henderson: Has a very good chance to start in Charlotte on a team that doesn't have a lot of offensive weapons.
Blake Griffin
Jonny Flynn
Jordan Hill
James Harden
Stephon Curry
thats my all 1st team and i think any 1 of them has a good chance of winning it. my sleeper is Dejuan Blair.
No way Curry wins it in GS...he's gonna go through a spell where he just rides the bench, you all know how Don Nelson is!!!
Its gonna be Blake Griffin or James Harden!!!
If the Clippers can find 30 minutes a game for him then Blake wins it easy...
But I really think James Harden has a great shot at winning it, he does everything(score rebound, pass, play defense), he's gonna be alongside Durant, Westbrook, & Green, so he's not gonna see a single double team all season!!!
ya, he wont see any double teams, but he wont see many shots with westbrook, durant, and green all wanting to score, score, score.... harden will have trouble playing fourth fiddle to these guys i think
1) STEPHEN CURRY
2) BRANDON JENNiNGS
3) TYREKE EVANS
4) BlAKE GRiFFiN
ONlY REASON THAT GRiFFiN iSN'T #2 OR EVEN #1 iS BECAUSE THE CliPPERS AlREADY HAVE DAViS, GORDON, RANDOlPH, && THORNTON . .&& THOSE GUYS ALL lOVE TO SHOOT . .SO YOU JUST KNOW THAT GRiFFiN WON'T COME iN && AUTOMATiCAllY BE A 1ST, A 2ND, OR EVEN 3RD OPTiON ON THE CliPPERS . .BUT i BEliEVE THAT WiTH AT lEAST 30 MiNUTES HE'll HAVE AN AUTOMATiC DOUBlE-DOUBlE
hopefully they clean house so griffin can take some shots
Griffin and harden. Simply because their the 2 players in the draft who's best quality isn't their "potential". I honestly don't see a player averaging more than 12 points a game this year besides from those two. I see curry and evans having very similar numbers at 12 pts and 4 ast(no roy material). Harden will go for 16 and 4 while griffin will go 15 and 9.
no love for jordan hill. he will get numbers there in ny. but i like evans because can create for the shooters on that team and he will always have the ball in his hands.

Who do you think will be the rookie of the year?
