The Pistons should...

Do that trade that they truned down with the C's right before the draft if they still can. Rondo and Allen for Rip, Prince and Stuckey... Would still have a three G backcourt that Joe wants with Allen coming off the pine. You get the better PG and to top it off, you get out of Rips contract and Allens comes off the books next year at 22 mill.

i said that in another post.

i said that in another post. I 100% agree. This deal would make the Pistons a decent contender for a playoff spot.

Dumars must have got tired

Dumars must have got tired of hearing about Milicic, since he will never be forgiven for wasting $18 mil per for bench players, right before the 2010 bonanza. Gordon? a 6'2 shooting guard who got hot and scored on a senior citizen in the playoffs, woohoo!

Prince

I don't understand why Joe D loves Stuck so much, but giving up Prince in that deal doesn't make any sense. I don't know if I would want Rondo on the Pistons. He has been rumored to have serious attitude problems even way back at UK playing for Tubby. You cannot deny his talent and potential, but if things get worse him in Boston and his chemistry with his teammates.... I feel like the C's will be forced to trade him for pennies on the dollar. Rondo = Next NBA Cancer.

hm

it's too early to call him a cancer. powe and garnett were hurt. he was single handed carrying that team against chicago.

you'd

you'd be pissed off too if the self titled best player of the world (pierce = p.o.s) disapeared and allen played just ok.

What are the Detroit Pistons thinking? Why would they want to sign Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva?

Ben Gordon is a nice and sometimes overated player (though not during last year's playoffs). I can't see him meshing well with Rodney Stuckey since both have a scoring mentality. And we can't forget about Rip Hamilton, who will also want about 15 shots a game. Seeming how I can only see Gordon come off the bench, I thought that's the problem he had with the Chicago Bulls management, because he saw himself as a starter.

Now, Charlie Villanueva, who can play all 5 positions, could eventually end up being the Piston's best player. He's a younger version of Lamar Odom, but he also has Odom's thought process and never wants to take games over. However, if Villanueva is to flourish, Rahseed Wallace will have to be moved because the both have tendencies to stray away from the basket.

Just my observation on Detroit's early free agent summer.

Dhamp...the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway

Dont hate on BG. He's a good

Dont hate on BG. He's a good scorer and thats something the Pistons need. Its prety obvios that Rip will be traded now that BGs there and Charlie will replace Rasheed. I love Rip and its going to kill me if he gets traded for an underachiever like Tyson Chandler but if it makes Detroit better Im all for it. Detroit is trying to rebuild without having to go through 4 years of being a lottery team. Rebuilding without complete destrcution. Hopeful it works and think that these moves arent bad when your trying not to be what the T-Wolves r now

So if that happened the

So if that happened the pistons lineup would look like this?

Rondo/Bynum
Allen/Afflalo
Summers/Daye/Hermann.. who am i missing here?
Villanueva/Maxiell/Hermann
Oberto/Maxiell/Villanueva

That doesn't look like a very strong lineup haha.

WHY????They could simply get

WHY????They could simply get a center for Hamilton and it would make them way better let's compare....
1. Stuckey---1. Rondo
2. Gordon----2. Gordon
3. Prince-----3. Allen
4. Vill----------4. Vill
5. Chandler/Kaman---5. ????
The roster on the left is way better. Rondo is not that much better than stuckey. Stuckey's is a way better scorer and is a good passer also. Allen at SF? So Either Allen or Gordon will be guarding Lebron James? Hahahah. I'd like to see that! And who would their center be?

Rondo

Rondo is way better than Stuckey as a PG... Stuckey is a combo G. You can't tell me that when Rondo fixs his jump shot a little bit he won't be top PG in the NBA... Also lets not forget that the kid can play some nice D. I said they should do this trade becuase it gives them a top 5 PG, you have Allen who can be your 6th man for a year and then you go into 2010 with money... and a nice core of players Rondo, BG, Daye, Villanueva and Maxiell... Amare Stoudemire would like that core.
