Is this a joke?
Ok,I think this is one of 3 things
1-either they are stupid to do that
2-either it is a stupid rumor
3-They put that as the price to trade down(probably with Minnesota )which could make some sense for them but I don't think the wolves would do it tbh
its not stupid just to see what people are willing to offer for your pick. Giving it away just so someone will take back brand seems a little ridiculous but just seeing what the value is not a bad idea.
Well yeah.this is why I think they will ask for a pick back or another player with value at least
It's not stupid, but in my opinion you only do it if you can get rid of brand. The Brand signing just set the franchise really far back because not only does it tie up a bunch of cap space, but it hinders that team from fully rebuilding. I think you also do it if you are not sold on Turner or Turner and Iggy playing together. That team is at least another couple of years from even attempting to do anything, which is not possible if you don't have many trade assets or no money to spend.
Please. For the love of God, git'er done Bryan Colangelo.
Could you imagine if a team like OKC jumped on this opportunity and picked up Brand and then drafted Cousins 2nd overall? That would be a hell of a good young team.
Who would the Thunder offer?? I mean I guess they could give a pick of their own, Eton Thomas and Jeff Green. But, do the 76ers need any of the players that the Thunder could offer?? Maybe Collison and Harden?? I mean they would have to give up a good player.
But the Thunder would be in the same situation that the 76ers were in with Brand. He doesnt fit their tempo.. He doesnt fit their youth movement and he would make it harder for them to get a big time C, when the time comes, and resign Westbrook and Durant...
I dunno maybe Green and Collison and maybe their first rounder this year or possibly even both first rounders. I'm not sure what exactly Philly expects for the #2 pick.
Green would be a good fit in Philly and Collison would give them an expendable contract and provide them with some toughness and rebounding for a year.
OKC would get a big time C immediatley when they draft Cousins. With a core of Durant, Westbrook, Cousins and Harden they will be a handful for any team in the west.
Brand wouldn't be a perfect fit in OKC but he would provide them with a veteran presence and a low post scorer for a few years. Right now they have the salary space to take on a contract like Brand if it brings with him a young center like Cousins. With Nenad Kristics 6 million coming off the books next off-season they will be in good position to still have the money to offer Durant a nice extension.
why doesnt brand fit the thunders tempo. they play more half court than u would think from a young team. i dont think the thunder would do it because they are too well run.
I think the Sixers could use Green. This would allow for Iggy to stay, Speights to move to the Starters, and Young to the bench.
Durant/(Hayward, 21st pick)
26 pick (Alabi)
Trade Jeff Green, 26th pick, Nick Collison to Sixers for 2nd pick and Elton Brand
