Last year Pat Connaughton recorded a 44 inch vertical at the combine which drew headlines and likely helped him get drafted (41st overall). The only problem was that his vertical was enhanced by four inches as his standing reach (8' 0) was recorded incorrectly, four inches below what it had been recorded at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament.
This year there apparently were a bunch of Pat Connaughtons.

1995 born, early draft entrant Guerschon Yabusele impressed numerous scouts at the 2015 adidas Eurocamp. He has a massive frame but also possesses very good body control, agility, explosiveness and shooting touch. His 7-foot-1 wingspan helps make up for the fact that he's a short (6-foot-8) power forward. He has strung together four straight 20 point performances and is one of the intriguing international prospects for the first round this year. We got the chance to interview him to learn more about his future NBA plans and background.
As is common during the past few seasons, many of the top prospects chose to skip the NBA combine, and this year is no different. Ben Simmons and Brandon Ingram are both absent in the list of players that were officially measured, (we have included their measurements from events within the past year) but quite a few players vying for a spot in the 1st round came in and at least participated in the measurements sections. Here are a few winners and losers for the 2016 combine.
