NBA Comparison: Kendall Brown

Strengths: A freak athlete with one of the best highlight reels of any player in the draft … Shows flashes of immense ability … The good plays make him appear to be a first round talent … Can really get out on the break and is a menace making plays at the rim with highlight finishes … His 7-1 wingspan and 38 inch vertical, allows him to play extremely athletic, and bigger than his 6-7 size  … Shows a lot of defensive potential with not just the attributes, but willingness … Solid 1.3 steals per game illustrates his anticipation and ability to play the passing lanes and force steals … Has an exceptionally athletic game and really causes havoc as a shot blocker and rim runner … Loves going baseline for ally oop finishes … Makes it difficult for opponents to get easy looks in isolation … Good rebounder, who uses his length and explosiveness well, Had a solid 6.9 boards per game in 27.5 mpg … Could potentially play some small ball 4 in today’s NBA … Despite being just 21, there’s optimism that with the right development, there’s a lot of potential yet to be realized … Shooting stroke would lead one to believe that he can become a better offensive player …

Weaknesses:  Still much more of an athlete than a skilled player … Feel for the game may never be great … An older sophomore. Still incredibly raw for a player that turned 21 in January … A bit of a tweener as his wing skills are lacking, and does not possess the size and strength of a post player … Not much of a scorer and struggles to create offense …Jumpshot needs a lot of work as he has a tendency to turn his body into the shot and doesn’t keep his elbow tucked and his body does not end up squared to the basket upon his release … Really struggles to shoot the ball, as witnessed by his 8 ppg output and 50% FT shooting and 20% 3 point shooting … A bit of a tweener. His ball skills, in particular ball handling is not a strength and in need of development … Did not measure as well as one might have expected at 6’6.25 barefoot, 213 lbs, and with an 8’7 standing reach. he clearly has the size of a 3 and small as an NBA 4, despite being a big time athlete … Lacks great focus and intensity, going through long parts of games without having the impact that he should. really struggles to create much offense for himself … At 215 lbs, could use another 10 lbs of muscle … Has no real post game to speak of, to take wings on the block and score on the them … below average passer … Less than 1 assist per game shows his lack of vision and ball skills and how little the team looked for him to create offense … Lack of development causes concerns about his competitiveness …

Notes: Measured: 6′ 6.25” barefoot, 213.6 lbs, 7′ 1.50” wingspan, 8′ 7.00” standing reach, 32 standing vert, 38.5 max vert at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine … Native of Freeport, New York …
