NBA Comparison: Bo Outlaw

Aran Smith – 9/22/2007

Strengths: A bigtime run jump athlete with good length Very smooth and fluid in the open floor and gets well above the rim for rebounds and dunks Hard worker. The incredible improvement he has shown over the past year is an indication of his dedication and hard work Shows a high level of intensity and competitiveness His long arms and explosiveness make him a solid shot blocker (1.4 bpg) Has become much better at converting baskets inside the paint and even shows solid post moves on occasion … Had a breakout junior year, significantly raising his averages to 10.4 ppg and 7.1 rpg. Hell look to use that as a springboard for an even better senior season Has decent hands, which sometimes can be an area of trouble for African born players … Will look to become a solid role player giving a team a rebounder and defensive spark At his age, hes more physically ready to contribute than a lot of underclassmen prospects

Weaknesses: Will be 25 by the time 2008 draft day rolls around. His age is definitely a drawback as teams will question just how much upside he has left to develop. On the positive side, he has shown offensive development in the past year. But there are legitimate questions about his ability to get stronger and the fact that he is already nearing his prime and playing against younger, less physically developed players in college Needs to improve from the line where he shot just 57% At 6-11 and 232, hes on the light side to play in the paint in the NBA. He can obviously get stronger, but how much is debatable Hit a wall at the end of the season and his numbers really trailed off. Will need to maintain his stamina and level of focus throughout his senior year His feel for the game has shown improvement, but still needs work

Notes: Was born in Waw, Sudan.
