NBA Comparison: Kenyon Martin Jr. / Juan Toscano-Anderson

Strengths:  Powerful and explosive forward … Highlight dunks and threes are his MO on offense. .. One of the most athletic players in college basketball … and projects as one of the best athletes in the NBA … 42 inch vertical at the NBA draft combine … Very fast in a straight line … Showed very impressive development as a shooter … Did not have any noteworthy three point shooting ability until last season, where he made one per game at an impressive 39% … Ferocious, aggressive hustle player who causes chaos on defense  … Shows the ability to block shots at their apex, which is usually only something you see from 7-foot athletic bigmen … While Steal and Block numbers are not particularly impressive, he does make an impact defensively with his aggressive play style and athleticism … Does not have much “shake” or a great handle, but is powerful and quick enough to blow by his defender in a straight line and finish with the dunk … Decent touch on the baby hook and shows some finishing ability on non-dunks … Can hit the mid range pull up jumper … Can catch a lob, adjust mid air, and flush or finish with a lay up … Can hit the baseline fadeaway shot … Has a softer shooting touch than you might expect given his fast twitch playing style …

Weaknesses: It could be argued that Keshad is relatively unproven … He was not a very productive / or featured much in 4 years at SDSU … However, there are no questions about his production this past year with Arizona … Is he a late bloomer and was it just a mediocre fit at SDSU? … Free throw shooting should improve. Just 71% this past season, and below 70% the seasons prior … Has not demonstrated much ability as a playmaker … Can he be effective as an (undersized) 5 man in the NBA? … Arizona used him as their Center in a small ball lineup … Measured just 6’6.25 barefoot at the combine making him very short to play as an NBA bigman … 8’7 standing reach is generally wing player size and not considered post player length … Can his incredible leaping ability make up for his lack of size? … Shot a miserable 41% on 2 point jumpshots … Not much of a scorer. Lacks a scorers mentality. Post game needs further development …

Outlook: After 4 nondescript seasons at UNLV, he used a COVID exception season to breakout with Arizona … His 3 point shooting showed a lot of improvement and it has unlocked his chances as an NBA player … Actually measured with a one inch better standing reach than a player he’s got some similarities to in Memphis Grizzlies Brandon Clarke … Projects as a mid-second round pick …

Notes: Measured: 6′ 6.25” barefoot, 224 lbs, 6′ 10.25” wingspan, 8′ 7.00” standing reach, 31.5 standing vert,  42 max vert at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine …Played four years at SDSU before transferring to Arizona for a fifth season… Measured a 42″ max vertical leap at the 2024 NBA Draft Combine which was the best measured … Wears number 16 in tribute to his older brother Kenny …
