Earl Timberlake

Strengths: 6’6 left-handed forward … Tough, powerful build with broad shoulders. Plays physical and embraces contact … Good athlete and finishes above the rim. Quick elevation on both ends … Consistent motor and doesn’t get outworked. Attacks the basket with aggression. Draws fouls at a high rate. Shot 6.9 free throws per game over the Nike EYBL in 2019 … Solid ball handler with good slashing ability … Makes some solid passes out of drives and sees the floor well in general … Can hit shots off the dribble … Averaged 18.3 points per game at 46.4% FG% over the Nike EYBL in 2019 … Rebounds very well for his size. Finished 6th at the NBPA Top 100 with 6 rebounds per game in 2018. Finished 7th over the Nike EYBL with 9.6 rebounds per game in 2019 … Good effort and ability as a defender. Good shot blocker for size and gets chase downs … Made a big leap going into his senior year …
Weaknesses: Undersized for how he plays as his skills and tendencies resemble more of a four-man than the guard position his size suggests. Can expand perimeter game … Needs to work on jump shooting and expand his scoring range. Dribbles into contested shots. Jump shot could use more arc. Shot 15.4% (2-13) 3PT% at the NBPA Top 100 in 2018 and 20% (3-15) 3PT% in 2019. Shot 28.4% 3PT% on 4.1 attempts per game over the Nike EYBL in 2019 … Doesn’t create much off the dribble, if he doesn’t have a straight line to attack, his ability to score diminishes. Translating the baskets he gets in high school to college will be more difficult … Older for his class, turned 20 in November before the start of his first game of college …
Outlook: Miami freshman … 2019 All-EYBL: Third Team …
