Matthew Maurer – 2/4/2007
Weaknesses: Needs to work on strengthening his upper body strength For now, Nichols struggles to convert after taking contact in the lane Struggles with consistency as his jumper can go through periods of hot/cold streaks Ball handling has improved but is still in need of improvement Settles for the jumpshot too much, seems to base his whole game around his outside jumper. His average first step could have something to do with him not be able to drive to the basket consistently Because of this he struggles to gain full separation from his defender Defensively Nichols can loose focus and play without much intensity Will need to work on his shooting mechanics, right now he takes too long to release his shot When catching a pass, Nichols will gather his feet and bring the ball from below his waist and then shoot. This delay allows the defense to recover so improving on this would be a bit benefit Despite being bigger than most of his opponents, Nichols has little to no post up game His passing ability is average due to his lack of court vision
