ckowalskiParticipantneeds a shooting guard. i hope he sticks it to bill self.

gatorheelsParticipantHenry really wanted to go to Kentucky to begin with but his mom was the one that talked him out of it. She wanted him to go to Kansas.

Stanford hoopsParticipanti think he was thinking about this move for a while and when jodie meeks decided to stay in the draft and got drafted it was offical in his mind

gatorheelsParticipantYeah I was the one that mentioned Stephenson too. I had a feeling more than likely one of them would end up at KY because Calipari had an open scholarship. Plus I knew Stephenson hadn’t signed with anyone and I kept hearing that Henry wanted to go to Kentucky. I live in KY so I hear a lot of rumors.

gatorheelsParticipantHe is a perfect fit. The one thing UK doesn’t have is a true SG. They lack perimeter shooting and Henry shoots pretty good.
PG-Wall/Bledsoe/Liggins
SG-Henry/Miller
SF-Miller/Dodson/Harris
PF-Patterson/Stevenson
C-Cousins/OrtonLOADED….deep lineup….NCAA Champs no doubt if Henry comes

Stanford hoopsParticipantyeah that line up is ridiculous…i wouldnt call them the champs right off the bat though ..loaded teams for the most part end up not winning for some reason or another..we will have to see how well they mesh together and if they buy into playing as a team or do they buy into im going for mine so ill be in the lotto….im sure some of ya’ll remeber the loaded team of ucla with baron and rush and the others then there was the young supossed new fab five at michegan with traylor m.taylor and jerod ward

mikeyvthedonParticipantIf they go to Kentucky, I am definitely with the consensus here of Kentucky winning the championship. I thought Kentucky would be the favorites if Jodie Meeks had decided to return, but with Xavier going from the now favored Jayhawks to the Wildcats and filling in at Meeks spot, that would vastly change. I think Xavier will be a contributor on both teams, and could very well have some great games next year. I do not know about CJ Henry, other than that he is an athlete and used to be able to beat Xavier at 1 on 1. However, I am sure Taylor Griffin could probably mess with Blake in a duel, but if you are running 5’s it is Blake every time. I think that would be the case with Xavier and CJ, as Xavier will have a big impact and most likely be a 3rd or maybe even second option, while CJ is running off the bench. Nonetheless, choosing between two schools that would be favored to win according to who you choose is not a bad deal.

HaleParticipantYeah, I agree. Dumb statement by Mr. Henry. I just keep seeing this articles so why not post them?

JordanC20ParticipantI don’t think I have ever been so excited for my wildcats…I really do hope they come.
C-A-T-S CATS!!!! CATS!!! CATS!!!

gatorheelsParticipantIt is about time Kentucky started getting top recruits again. Gillespie just likes chasing women….he lived in the bars. The players hated him. Tubby was ok but he won with Pitinos players. The main problem I had with Tubby was that he held players back way too much. Example: Rondo….Rondo could’ve dominated everygame if the coach let him penetrate at will. Nobody could stop him from getting into the lane. I knew some players on the team and they said Rondo had the best handles they had ever seen. I am definitely excited for this season. I gotta go watch UK in person at least once.

HaleParticipantTubby sure has done wonders for Minnesota though, man has made them a contender already.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 3:02pm #173573

gatorheelsParticipantTrue….he has done a good job at Minnesota so far. The thing is as long as Minnesota is winning games and making the NCAA tourney the fans are happy. At Kentucky if you aren’t winning it all it is a disappointment.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 3:03pm #173574
cphillParticipantdont forget about Elliot Williams
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 3:09pm #173579

gatorheelsParticipantKansas will be solid but they can’t mess with UK. (if Xavier goes to the Wildcats)
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 3:21pm #173586

Meditated StatesParticipantHey son I can make sure your a top pick in the draft. I can make sure your talents are used to showcase what you do best. He has not even won a title yet but he can guarantee you get better, maybe make it to the final four. Most important be a high lottery pick.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 4:56pm #173621
kaceyParticipantI finished school a year too early at UK. The two years I’m there the team goes through the worse losses and worst seasons ever (thanks Billy G!). Now that I’m finished the team is stacked with potential NBA players. Guess I’ll be going for that Masters degree soon (and getting some five…five dollar…five dollar student tickets).
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 4:59pm #173624
MattissickParticipantWhat happened to Kentucky having more players than available scholarships? I thought they were gonna have to cut some players to fit all the new people.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:06pm #173627

lakanoParticipant@ Mattissick they dropped two players and have an open scholarship for Xavier and his brother Cj will be a walk on going to school with Yankee money (If he decides to go there)
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:16pm #173639
mrhancocParticipantSo lets say both of the Henrys do end up in kentucky, i wouldn’t label them the 1 team, the would have a nice set of player but they will all be like rookies and will be gone the next year, which all leads into what dicky v calls crazy, no real time to develop any real skills, no edu and pretty sure they all wouldn’t go in the first round, i guess its still a good look for kentucky after observing the pros and cons of the issue
can’t wait for the UNC @ Kentucky game, hopefully they play each other again this year, this should be a good battle, still think UNC is way too strong now and 10 months down the road, Roy W. really knows how to get the best out of his players
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:18pm #173644
Stanford hoopsParticipanti wouldnt say they are better then kanas yet..these freshman havent proven they are ready on the college level yet unlike cole and collins and some of there sophs..man some of ya’ll just jump straight on the next best freshman with no proof they can produce on the college level first..last year we had this conversation and some of the fans on here had holiday, mullins, samario samuls as first or second team all american..like i said then ill say now..we shall see
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:21pm #173645

HaleParticipantPersonally I called it that Mullens, Holiday and Samuels would be below average. I also called Tyreke to be a stud, (I missed on Jamychal Green and sorta on Derozan) I thnk Wall, Henry and Favors are going to be beasts next year.

bobbob8Participantthat would be awesome!!!
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:47pm #173696
Stanford hoopsParticipantoh yeah i forgot about derozen…henrry will be awight but i think hes being a tad overhyped because of the fact hes first step is pretty slow..he doesnt drive past players who are athletic but he is a very good shooter…favors is a guy i like but ill wait and see how he does against players who are also big and athletic..he has to prove he can dominate them like he did 6’5 scared kids in highschool
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:48pm #173700

HaleParticipantFavors will do well in college, he is super athletic and he will likely be able to rely on that mostly with help from Lawal. The NBA however is a different story as he will need to get more post moves and a jump shot.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:55pm #173705
Stanford hoopsParticipantalot of players are super athletic in college thats why imma wait and see cuz that doesnt always equal success..there are plaenty of super athletic guys who came in and did ok billy walker and derozen just to name too….the thing with me is what are the players flwas and does the player have any moves ..can they hit the midrange, three pointer..cant they reverse pivot up and under..basic things …most peopel who dont know much about basketball like they claim concentrate on what the player can do but dont look deepr and see what other player can do that and what would make them stand out…favors isnt so athletic where he is head and shoulders above other players in college basketball…in fact is vertical is not extemely high(34inch max vert)
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:56pm #173706

HaleParticipantGreat, great point. You got me there.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 5:59pm #173712
Stanford hoopsParticipantalthough i think he will do alright..i like his game but im not gonna go on a limb and rated him as a future superstar just yet
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/30/2009 - 11:02pm #173764
cookielogicParticipantWord is that Xavier texted some of the Kansas City media and confirmed that the Henry brothers are indeed sticking to their Kansas commitment. So, all of this hullabaloo is for nothing. All of this started when Carl Henry spoke to some media scoundrels who ran with some of the many words Carl said. Xavier nor CJ said anything about heading to KY to anyone in the media. It was just Carl’s big mouth spouting junk.
For the record, had the Henry’s decided to be Wildcats, yes that team would be greatly talented, no doubt. But, to say that they would be instant champs is bunk. Tons of inexperience and too many young egos would make it tough. I would say that Kansas would still be favored. Word out of the midwest is that not only does Kansas have two All American candidates in Collins and Aldrich, but last years freshman are going to surprise the hell out of many people as sophomores. Tyshawn Taylor and Marcus Morris in particular are on track to shock some people. But, hey, the Henry’s are still future Jayhawks.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 07/01/2009 - 3:19am #173769

gatorheelsParticipantYeah looks like Henry is staying at Kansas. Well Calipari still has an open scholarship…..somebody else will sign with Kentucky? I don’t know what good recruits are left if any?
