chrislebronParticipantit is not gonna happen in the real actual draft
it can only happen to mock drafts, which some times make us laugh

JordanC20ParticipantI sure as heck wouldn’t…Cousins is the best big man in the draft period.

JoeWolf1Favor’s talent is undenyable, but he, of the 3, is the biggest gamble for a bust in my opinion. I think Aldrich and Cousins are safer bets to pan out in the NBA, but I still think Favors goes first of the 3. As for Aldrich and Cousins, Aldrich has proved himself a hard worker and is dominating Big 12 conference play. Cousins, in his own right, has stepped up his play recently, but I think character issues may continue to hurt him as does the fact Aldrich is more polished as a player and without freak athleticism like Favors if you are going to choose between Aldrich and Cousins I think most teams will go with the guy they know is going to work his butt off and be an impact NBA defender right away.

quinceyhodgesyes and some nba teams have said they like cole over favors. cousins has moved ahead of cole though
favors is higher on mock drafts then he is on actual draft boards from what ive heard0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 7:56am #252838
quinceyhodgesyoure hoping favors will be much better int he pros. right now i dont think so. the game is faster and players are bigger and he is raw on offense. just like you guys thought i was crazy by saying he was raw, wasnt gonna dominate, and wasnt as athletic as some thought. and that he is not a small foward. i dont seem so crazy now:)
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 8:02am #252836
RUDEBOYBack in december i said Cousins was going to be a top 5 pick….U guys said i was crazy and start naming several prospects y’all said was better than DMC…Favors is going to be much better in the pros…He’s a top 5 pick..Cole plays alot like Marc Gasol ..and whut team wouldnt mine having Marc on their team now? Gasol takes it personally when the Grizzlies lose and takes it out on his next opponent

quinceyhodgesand please stop with the freak athleticism with favors. hes show zero freak athleticisim. he’s shown to be tall very long arms and good athlete. there havnt been high flying dunks on people or a bunch of joshsmith/amare/lebron sport center highlights so lets please stop
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:14am #252865

the I in winParticipantFavors hops have been overrated, he can jump plenty high but probably no more than 35 inches.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:17am #252866
quinceyhodgesexactly…you cant tell that to some of the bandwagon guys who cant speak bad about anyplayer they like even if its obvious
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:24am #252872

FastAndFuriousParticipantFavors is def not a freak athlete he is like someone said a good athlete with long arms, he is no Dwight Howard that is a freak athlete
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:30am #252876

JoeWolf1Is this because of my freak athlete comment about Favors? I know he isn’t in the Howard or Lebron caliber, but I think a 6’10” guy with that kind of wingspan and a mid 30’s vert at 18 years old can be considered a high caliber athlete, with room to improve as far as strength and even vert go. Personally he reminds me of Stromile Swift, but his athletic credentials and his solid, but not oustanding, numbers are enough to put him top 5 whether he will pan out or not, I think he is a huge risk, but I think some GM will take it.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:34am #252879
quinceyhodgeshe is a freak physically with his wingspan and height but many big men have mid 30’s verts
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:38am #252882

FastAndFuriousParticipantHe’s not a freak athlete he’s a GOOD to possibly even GREAT athlete, Freak athleticism is just something your blessed with, something you can’t teach, i’m not arguing with you it’s just obvious he isn’t a freak, he hasn’t made an big time plays this season at least not that I know of to show he is a freak.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 9:40am #252883

JoeWolf1I know, Shaq had a 32” well into his late 20’s and early 30’s, I think you mis understood me as to where I was coming from on my initial post. All those characteristics combined is why i used the word freak. Not because I’m some huge Favors fan, trust me I’ve seen Favors play plenty and everytime I have Gani Lawai has a better game, as evident from my previous posts, I am not on his bandwagon.

quinceyhodgesi told you i didnt hate cousins i just needed more proof. i dont hate any player i just wait to see how they perform against college comp. yeah from what ive been told alot of teams like cole right now because he reminds them of brook lopez except a lil more athletic and the fact he can contribute from day 1. also found out that cousins has moved to the number 2 spot on some teams boards
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 11:38am #252913
armani think that jazz would pick cole over favors and cousins cause they need rebounder, blocker and he is good worker and … i personally think that cousins is better but jazz dont want player with bad atittude( rumors say that cousins is like that )
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 11:50am #252923

the I in winParticipantIf and probably when Cousins plays center in the nba his speed for his size would be deadly. I personally would take Cousins over either but the argument can be made for either Favors or Aldrich.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 3:02pm #252982

butidonthavemoneyMinnesota – Favors and Aldrich would fit their needs better.
Indiana – Drafts high-character players.
Utah – Ditto.
Golden State – They have always drafted to their system. Look at the O’Bryant, Wright picks. They won’t draft Cousins over the more athletic Cole Aldrich and Derrick Favors.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 3:06pm #252987

butidonthavemoneyIt’s more than just rumors with Cousin’s attitude. If you guys don’t believe me I could easily find a mountain of evidence to back me up.

ball4life66ParticipantFavors is a great athlete but I would not call him a freak athlete. I’d consider Josh Smith a freak athlete….I am not saying THIS IS TRUE and we won’t find out until whenever Favors declares but according to his high school coach that he had a 39 inch veritcal. Favors will be a good pro. He is raw on offense but he’s still young as he gets older his offense will improve a lot. He is already a great rebounder and and shot blocker and is almost a year younger than Cousins. He has a higher upside than Cousins but Cousins has clrearly a better offesnive game right now….
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/03/2010 - 5:00pm #253023

JNixonParticipantDerrick Favors is an elite athlete for a big man…He’s quick, agile, and an well above average leaper. His arm length only helps. I do think that he should be the last big man taken between himself, Aldrich and Cousins though with that said.
Aldrich isn’t going to be a great center. Probably not All-Star caliber. But he is definitely a solid starter. He’s got some moves down low, but they aren’t that of an All-Star center.
I think Cousins can be everything that Al Jefferson is right now as a player (including the bad defense). He’ll probably start his career off relatively slow (like 7 ppg and 5 rebs), and then hit full stride by his 2nd or 3rd season like most offensively talented big men do. I think he’ll be the most successful pro out of the 3.

lalailaParticipantwow quincey it’s interesting to hear some teams like Cole over Favors..
as for DeMarcus i’m happy that finally he gets some love he is really really some player, he could be so so good.. with getting little more than those 21mpg in last couple games he is 20&10&2 guy easily enough.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 7:34am #253858
quinceyhodgesyou dont have to wait till the combine to see if someone is a great athlte. you can tell by watching games. and by watching them you can easily tell that gani is the more explosive and higher leaper of the 2 by a mile. i wouldnt even call favors elite because ive seen plenty of other big men who bang on people alot more and with greater ease.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 7:59am #253861
ball4life66ParticipantActually no Favors is a higher leaper than Lawal and I know that for a fact. Lawal tries to break the rim when he dunks and get up but I know Favors can get higher than him. Are you saying he’s not elite leaper because he doesn’t boom on anybody? He boomed on Alex Stephenson earlier in the year pretty bad and I guarentee he will boom on people in the NBA. Favors has been dunking since he was in 6th grade.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 8:47am #253882
quinceyhodgeshow you know that for a fact?…i know for a fact from seeing it in games. and if someone doesnt bang on people i could care less about them leapers because that shows how unagressive they are. gani has dunked on plenty of people and is much more agressive. favors has been underwhelming skill wise and athletic wise. you continue to argue for him but the truth of the matter is he didnt and wont dominate this year just like i told you before the season, and that hes raw. you and other though i was crazy then but it seems that im looking more and more sane as the season goes along while ya’ll make more and more excuses. first it was wait for a couple more games in the beginning, then wait till after 10 games then wait till conference play starts, now wait till the tourney and im sure after that it will be, wait till predraft workouts. simple put compared to his hype, and hs ranking he has been overrated. i know its hard to swallow but thats how it is. ya’ll said during the summer about all the people he would be dunking on but its hard to even find on youtube or espn, him dunking on anyone. please show me one time hes dunking on someone. JUST ONE.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 3:47pm #254006
ball4life66ParticipantI have played against both of them that is why I know. I am 100% postive that Favors can get higher than Lawal. Favors has been a dissappointment in scoring the ball but he has NOT been disappointing with his athletism. He has been a great rebounder and is 3rd in the ACC in shot blocking and has made GT one of the best defensive teams in the nation after they were horrible last year. He has had some dunks this year and I have watched every GT game….his dunks have been sicker than Lawals. I can’t show you any sick dunks on youtube because nobody has put any on youtube. I have some of the games recorded but i dont know how to put it on youtube. And I only told you to wait just once and that was because he had only played 4 games. Not to mention he is starting to play better…he still was in a little bit of foul trouble but dropped 16 points and 8 rebounds and had a nice alley oop dunk against NC State on saturday.

butidonthavemoneyDon’t argue with Quincey. You won’t win. He doesn’t budge on his “Favors Stance”.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 4:12pm #254015
quinceyhodgesplaying against both doesnt mean a thing. this isnt highschool anymore…ive watched every game except 2 and you must be confusing favors dunks with gani because they havnt been sick….as faqr as changing my stance i change when theres a reason. i talked to a former scout( joe harrington) who has talked to current scouts and they all say he’s raw and a GOOD athlete with POTENTIAL. playing against someone who does something against you in hs or jr high meansnothing if they arent doing it in the game. since ive seen all but 2 games please tell me these games where his dunks have been explosive? theres a difference between liking a player and being obsessed and you and some others have shown obsession by defending every weakness that he has. his game and stats speak for it self on what type of player he is right now and right now he isnt even a top 3 big man in his conference. its really that simple. and hes not even close to being on par as far as jumping as tyrus, josh at the same age. and his basketball iq as far as picking p fouls is below average. not to mention he hasnt gotten better as the season has progressed. production wise he’s actually gotten worst. ive given credit wehere credit is due. i had cousins and favors in the same boat. the difference is cousins have proven that he deserves more praise and has gotten better as the season has gone along while also playing with a future nba player next to him( one who is better then gani). unlike ya’ll i dont continue to hang on what a player did againstr lil kids in hs. i put more stock into what a player does against better players/men

powerguard97ParticipantI would draft Favors number 1! i love his game and he is def. NBA ready I would draft eigther him or Monroe from Georgetown first…I am not a fan of John Wall going number one overall in the draft. And i def. dont want to see him in New Jersey Nets uniform..that would be horrible…Unless Lebron joins them
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/08/2010 - 7:47pm #254062
ball4life66ParticipantYa I have hard time believing that quincy will ever like Favors. You are seriously underestimating him as an athlete. I have seen him in an open gym and the guy is an incredible athlete. That is why I am so high on him….and I when I played against him he got so high on one dunk he hit his head on the rim. His skills are raw but you can tell he has a good stoke for a big men and if he really works he could become a solid shooter and he could be an absolute monster in the NBA. He does pick up a lot of cheap fouls but it’s because he’s a freshman and is adjusting to playing guys his size every game. Lawal had the same problem as a freshman and he hasn’t got in foul trouble a lot this year. It’s kind of hard to describe the dunks he has had but if I knew how to upload the games on youtube I would……

quinceyhodgesthats what lailia thought about me not jumping on the cousins bandwagon. he stepped up as the season has gone on.favors hasnt. unlike most i like to be objective and have a player prove how good they are instead of liking them from day 1 qithout themproving there worth and thend efending them like they are dominating. gotta be real favors iisnt a first second or even third team all acc player this year
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/09/2010 - 1:22pm #254211
quinceyhodgesacc play
10.7ppg 9.2 reb 2blk.
the stats arent bad and he is a very very good rebounder obviously. iuts just as obvious that his offense is raw and he has alot of trouble creating offense for his self because he doesnt have good post moves.
