Has sounded like a near done deal for a while, I think this pretty much confirms it is happening, although if I were the Cavs I might use this extra time to push for the inclusion of Dieng in the deal, they badly need a rim protector.

yes they need dieng or another prospect atleast.

the writing on the walls seems the cavs think after the paul George injury   nothing is set in stone.

they want to win now so their going for it this season but I think they need Dieng.

as we know I wanted wiggins to stay im upset  but it seems hes gone hes 3 to 4 years away from being anything spectacular if he does reach his upside . The cavs want to win now  but they need a rim protector why not get dieng also.

I totally agree that no way was Cleveland going to trade Wiggins before Paul George got injured. It just makes so much sense. I don’t think he’ll go to Minnesota though because Wiggins wouldn’t like the cold. What do you think of this trade?

      Cleveland gets Love and Dieng

Indiana gets Andrew Wiggins (to replace PG because it would be fair)

      Minnesota gets Luis Scola

I’m thinking Minnesota would also have to give up LaVine and Muhammad because I doubt Scola would like this very much.

your funny but im saying when you take athletic players like wiggins/griffen,westbrook. who have upside injuries can derail them pretty bad if I was a gm I would be wary of taking athletic players rose has been set back tremendously he banks on his athletics a lot im not saying hes not skilled but skills paired with natural ability goes a long way.

I mentioned paul george because its takes along time for some players to put it all together paul george has a lot of improving to do still( even when wiggins  will starts to look good he still has a way to go) but if you are sure you can go for it now why not pull it for love?

what if loves signs else where and the cavs keep wiggins and hes a bust or get hurt or takes long to develop.

I think the cavs want to win now why risk it when they can go all in now.

I personally would wait but  I don’t want to speak on the trade imo I want to speak on what the owner said and that lines up with wiggins contract so I think the cavs and wolves have come to some kind of agreement.

barring no other teams steps their offer up.

The Wolves give up a top ten player and an all-rookie 2nd teamer for LUIS SCOLA? Ha!! You’re funny.

Cleveland is pretty cold and last time I checked, Wiggins is from Canada which is pretty cold. Wiggins will be on the Wolves by the end of August.

The T-Wolves probably realise if they can get a guy like Wiggins plus other good assets back they can virtually go forward as a very good young team plus it indicates clearly that K-Love is in play so it maybe shakes any other chasing teams into a bidding war. Plus with his contract running down, their bargaining power is now at it’s strongest.

There has been talk that GSW and Chicago are trying to put together bids and one of them was trying to get Philly involved in a 3 team deal. Also the T-Wolves have alerted any other teams looking to make unrealated moves that a blockbuster trade will likely go down so other GM’s could look to pick up pieces from the deal or do add ons. The more teams the T-Wolves can get talking to gives them more options to get the very best out of this deal as they control the guy at the top of the trade K-Love.

The D12 trade involving Bynum and Iggy consisted of 4 teams so the main receiving team possibly Cleveland may also want other teams involved as they might deal a younger piece for picks depending on what Flip and co prefer dealwise.

If the rules permit then the T-Wolves could offer Love an extension right away and part of the trade condition is he signs it. Rather like Denver with Melo in 2011 so the receiving team gets say 3 guaranteed years of K-Love and this increases T-Wolves asking price.

Plus with the Worlds coming up then there would be a mutual desire to get the deal settled prior to that as players involved in the tournament will be part of the deal.

    1) Dieng isn’t going anywhere. How selfish can Cavs fans be? You were graced with LeBron again, even after management and coaching (lol Mike Brown) completely and utterly failed to capitalize on him being on the team the first time around. You’re going to be landing a top 10 (I’d argue top 5) player in the entire league in Love!!! Dieng is already better, and will be better than Bennett, and be cheaper. Beggars cannot be choosers here. Wiggins, Bennett, and a future 1st I’d argue is not completely fair compensation for Love, but it’s the best deal that’s been proposed, so I’m not complaining.

    2) I find it hilarious/ironic that if Cleveland hadn’t screwed up so colossally by drafting Bennett, and instead doing the right thing and taking NARL, they would have been able to trade him (I’d honestly prefer Nerlens over Wiggins) and probably keep Wiggins. And I can already see the negs coming- Nerlens over Wiggins?! ARE YOU SERIOUS EHRMAGERD. But hear me out. Wiggins wasn’t even the best defender on his own team in Kansas (that would be Embiid), and certainly not the best perimeter defender in his own conference (that’d be Marcus Smart). I feel like Wiggins will turn out to be Rudy Gay- a guy that looks like he should be an amazing basketball player, but doesn’t have the elite production to back his hype up. Nerlens already has the defensive killer instinct, drive, and metrics/advanced stats that suggest he’s going to be a far better defensive player than Wiggins will ever be. I’d argue that Nerlens was as good as The Brow on D, maybe even a little bit better. Nerlens certainly isn’t the offensive player that The Brow or Wiggins is, but he’s no slouch either. He demonstrated pretty damn good ball handling for his size, and the ability to get to the rim and finish during SL, and he has the work ethic to improve himself to being at least servicable on the offensive end. If he can be decent on offense, and keep improving his D, he’ll be a better pro than Wiggins, and I feel he has a much better chance of being a key piece for a championship contending team than Wiggins does. In other words, Nerlens is less of a gamble than Wiggins is. Wiggins definitely COULD be better, don’t get me wrong. But Nerlens has a better chance of actually BEING better. That’s why I think it’s funny that if Cleveland hadn’t made such a horrible decision by drafting Bennett and took Nerlens instead, they wouldn’t even have to be in the position to give up the "Golden Cow" Wiggins in the first place.

Not a Cavs fan, but if I could push for a better deal given the benefit of extra time to negotiate, I’d be stupid not to right? That’s just common sense, if it was made clear that Dieng’s off the table, fair enough, but no harm in inquiring, I’m just looking at it from a Cleveland perspective. As for ‘beggers can’t be choosers’, I’d argue that Minnesota are the ‘beggers’ here, seeing as Love’s a free agent next year and holding onto him risks a) another mediocre season and Love leaving for nothing or b) Wiggins / Bennett exceeding expectations and the offer dissappearing altogether. Cleveland are a contender with or without the Love deal, but The Wolves’ season is dependent on getting good return on Love.

In terms of Wiggins / Noel, I can understand your point and Norl by virtue of being a C will probably have an overall bigger defensive impact than Wiggins, but Wiggins has a tremendous offensive ceiling too, and picks his spots better than Gay ever has done in his career.

Is the water in CLEV tainted? Or you guys are smoking something. Love is top 5 – 10 player, if you find someone that wants him, it’s your job to get as much as possible. Get it in your heads LJ does NOT want to play with a rookie like Wiggins. Period. Done. He want to play with someone that has already proved himself, and is an All Star. NOT will be, MAYBE.
If CLEV wouldn’t have drafted Bennett, you wouldn’t be needing all this. Who would you rather have Bennett for what you’re paying him or Dieng for what MN is paying him? Easy choice for me and a lot of other people.
On 8/23/2014 or one to two days later Wiggins, Bennett, and other pieces will be in MN and K Love and one to two more players will be in CLEV. One of them not being Dieng. Like I said in another post, this is just about a done deal.
      Bank on it.

I forgot to add this to my last post. If they weren’t waiting for Wiggins’s 30 day period to expire, this trade would be done now. So there is no doubt, positively NONE, that Wiggins is going to be moving to MN. Whether you want this to happen or not. But hey ignore logic and dream all you want.

Trading an asset as valuable as Wiggins for what is potentialy a 1 year rental would be an irresponsible move on the Cavs part IMO. Love has stated he won’t op in to the final year of his contract and wants to test free agency, whos to say the Califonia kid doesn’t go back home.

If Minnesota trades Love to the Cavs, then the Cavs have Love’s Bird Rights and can sign Love to a 5 year contract after the 2014-15 season (assuming Love opts out). If Love leaves as a FA after next season he can only sign a 4 year contract, with smaller annual raises than he could get with Cleveland.

So, Love’s choices will be to play with LeBron and Kyrie for more money, or leave in FA and have less chance to win and for less money. Well, duh. I think he will stay.

going to Cleveland, no doubt about it. He will stay in Cleveland, no doubt about it. The only question is whether a third team gets involved in the deal.

GlenTaylor…are you serious when you said you would rather have Noel then Wiggins? I would rather have Noel then Bennett, but seriously? The dude can’t do anything on offense besides dunk. At this point if he can become Larry Sanders 2.0 without the turdish off the court stuff, I’d say that’s his ceiling.

Wiggins didn’t match the hype he had coming out of HS, but really could he have? He averaged 17 and 6 and only took like 12 shots a game. He could be a bust, but his version of a bust would be like Ariza. I think he’ll be at least a better version of Iguadola and its fair to assume he could be a better Paul George.

I’m just not that impressed with Noel. Tries to block everything, which is going to get him in more trouble because he’ll either pick up dumb fouls, or his team will struggle to rebound because he’s out of position. He could be a good defensive piece, but seriously he wont score unless spoon fed buckets.
