bballdave3ParticipantThis trade just went down, what do you think of this move for the Wiz. Randy Foye is a very talented combo guard and Miller’s a great shooter, but how do they fit in with the Wiz personnel, especially Foye in the backcourt with Arenas?

thechosenstud101ParticipantBad trade for the Wiz. They should have gotten a pick in return

knicksfreakParticipantWhat? The Wizards made out great on this deal. They need “now” players.

butidonthavemoneyI don’t expect anybody else to remember this, but I said this trade would happen before the lottery even happened. If Washington didn’t get a top-two pick they would trade it along with some bad contracts for Mike Miller and Randy Foye!
I’m a genius!

xbadgerhustlerParticipantI kinda feel like they might use Foye as a 6th man and start Miller out there with Arenas in the backcourt. I’m a Twolves fan, so I’m going to give you the truth about these two guys.
Foye, is not a PG whatsoever. Not at all. Who knows, maybe Flip can turn him into chauncey, but at this point in his career he is not an NBA pg. I think sometimes it hurt him playing in that Nova offense as the pseudo-“4” because they had three other guards (Nardi, Ray, and Lowry) so he didn’t really get a whole lotta experience running the show at a high level.
That said, the guy is very talented and proved to be a clutch player in the 4th, hence the nickname 4th Quarter Foye. He can handle like a point, but his game is just not fit for getting other people involved, it’s not his strength by any means. That could change when he’s surrounded by Butler, Jamison, and Arenas- that makes everything easier.
Miller is… not what he’s advertised to be (3PT specialist), or at least he wasn’t this past year in MN. McHale wanted to say that it wasn’t his role on the team and that probably says something about why we were soo awful. Mike Miller was a GREAT shooter before he arrived in MN and it disappeared the minute he got here. Maybe it was the pressure of being close to home.
I saw ONE game when his shooting was up to par with his younger years and that was a game when we were down like 18 and he and McCants went off for like a combined 6 3s and all of a sudden we were back in the game. And… that was the only time I saw McCants or Miller do a damn thing all year. Miller is a BIG guard at like 6 8 so definitely not a bad guy to add to the roster. He rebounds and passes much better than I had anticipated.
I’m happy as a Twolves fan. I’d probably take Tyreke Evans, Thabeet, Rubio, or Harden over Foye any day of the week. Foye needed a clean slate and i hope he succeeds with the Wiz
