B-ball fanParticipantHoliday and Rubio are injury prone, Lawson has been declining, Teague is fairly meh, Evans didn’t work out that well, DeRozan is good but flawed.
I’m gonna go with Jrue Holiday.

ncballerLawson may have issues off the court, but on it, the guy averaged a double double passing to Faried and a bunch of nobodies. Declining he is not.
That said I would take Derozan of I were the Kings here.

dmo21ParticipantOut of the large group of point guards that will come next, I’m gonna have to go with Teague. He’s both good on offence and defense. Not injured a lot. Doesn’t get in trouble. And he improves his play from year to year.

SubZeroParticipantI want to take DeRozan, but the Kings back then had no option at PG and at least had Kevin Martin at SG. It’s hard not to go with Holiday or Teague, but I’ll just go BPA (which is debatable who that is) and go with DeRozan

Flameres15ParticipantDerozen. It is a difficult choice, but he is the bpa. This is a very different Kings roster, so if things were headed the way they did, Derozen would be the best pick.

ExumInfernoParticipantTyreke Evans
It worked in his first year. The Kings should have kept going with him, at point guard.
This draft certainly has a top tier of three players, then a bunch together after that.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantI think they definitely would take a pg. I would say Lawson if not for his off the court issues. Holiday and rubio have both been injury prone and Evans didn’t really work out in Sacramento despite a very impressive rookie season. I’m going with teague.

Henaz-2031ParticipantTeague then DeRozan after them it gets pretty interesting with DeMarre Carroll, Wesley Matthews, Tyreke Evans, Brandon Jennings, Ty Lawson, Ricky Rubio, James Johnson, Jordan Hill, Jrue Holiday, Taj Gibson, Darren Collison, Danny Green, Jodie Meeks, Omri Casspi, Jonas Jerebko, Patty Mills

Stephen A. BaylessParticipantThere are more talented guys available, but none can truly transform a team. If the goal is to win a championship, I think a high-end role player may be "more valuable" (not better) than say someone like Derozen who has more talent but needs more shots. It’s a couple guys that have made all-star teams but it’s no coincidence that it happened in the East either.
With Danny the Kings are getting one of best shooters in the league and an All-NBA level defender. Kawhi’s ascension is often credited as a reason the Spurs became Champions again and rightfully so but Danny’s played a significant role in that as well.

kobyzParticipantHow Danny over Wes? Wes has at least the same level of 3 and D Danny has but then you add also much more scoring, more rounded game and more toughness… Wes still so underrated as a player!!

Stephen A. BaylessParticipantWes is 29 coming off of Achilles injury. Danny is 28 and healthy. Easy choice, unless I’m not understanding the rules of this.
Danny is a career 42% 3pt shooter to 39% for Wes. Wes is a better all-around offensive player (well at least he’s shown more) but Danny advanced stats on defense outclass him. Matter of fact Wes defensive stats are ridiculously average. He’s more 3 than D.

kobyzParticipantI don’t think should consider his recent injury, i don’t get the point, it’s not like he’s injury prone, we draft a young Wes so we don’t know if that injury happened again in the new situation, but that’s just me… And about the numbers you put of Danny it’s also cause he’s play at better system, i don’t think his defense is significant better if not at all, to me Wes is not just 3 and D, he’s also complete scorer and a leader…

Arc12345ParticipantHuge drop off in talent clearly. This draft had 3 real studs with the next tear very decent players but a significant step below.
I take Teague, which seems odd because I like Rubio more. It’s just injuries. I really liked Evans though. I also like Derozan, but again knowing what we know now, the Kings take Teague.
