ItsVictorOladipoParticipantWizards need an outside shooter to team up with Wilt and Cousy and they also need a perimeter defender. Joe Dumars would fill both needs.
Cavs could use a primary ball handler to run their team. I was thinking Dave Bing but now I’m leaning towards Dennis Johnson and building a dominant defense with him, Hakeem and Kawhi.
Wizards take Joe Dumars.
Cavs take Dennis Johnson.

dmo21ParticipantWashington: Dantley (I have a gluttony of SFs on my board right now and they are very hard to differentiate, especially since the teams in the 70s and 80s didn’t shoot a lot of 3’s, but I am assuming a good mid range shooter back then would turn into a decent 3 point shooter in today’s game. So I have Dantley being the scorer on the wing).
Cleveland: Jerry Lucas (Him and Hakeem would gobble up all the rebounds. Lucas was also known as a pretty good shooter, so that would spread the floor. A good defender but not a shot blocker, but that’s why you have Hakeem and Leonard around him. Shaping up to be a great defensive team.)

OhCanada-ParticipantThe Wizards still pick English. Great perimeter scorer which Washington needs badly.
I’ll switch Wall for Anthony Davis.Davis can stretch the floor, be a nightmare help defender and transition player on this team. Wall is great but he sort of takes away from the chemistry became he is kind of a one man offense.

sweaterflexParticipantWizards take Adrian Dantley, Cavs take James Harden.
It can be hard to compare the late 70s-early 80s small forwards (Dantley, English, Aguirre) but Dantley was far and away the most efficient, leading the NBA in offensive +/- five out of seven years and averaged 30 four years in a row. Dantley shot twice as many free throws as English and Aguirre’s peak was much shorter. English was a slightly better passer and had slightly better longevity, but Dantley was easily better in their respective primes. None of these guys could shoot 3s, so floorspace is cramped either way. None of these guys had an individual season as great as Harden’s 2014-2015 for the record.
