sweaterflexParticipantArtis Gilmore to pair with LeBron, Manu to pair with Kareem.
Some notes on Artis Gilmore:
- Likely the third greatest ABA player ever after Dr. J and Rick Barry.
- Led the ABA twice in defensive rating, and led the NBA in offensive rating in 1981.
- Led the NBA in true shooting percentage five consecutive seasons, ranks #2 ALL TIME in FG%
- Seven seasons in the NBA of 10+ win shares, five seasons in the ABA (Nate Thurmond had ZERO such seasons)
- Made 11 All Star teams over 14 years
The man was basically a lower usage David Robinson of the 1970s.

morestealsthanscoresParticipantWith Lebron… Dave Cowens
from what I can remember, Lebron has NEVER played with an all-star big man in their prime… Dave Cowens was an MVP, a champion, and an all-defensive team player. Better yet, he had a crazy high motor and great mobility for a big man. Like how the Warriors can field an all 6’6″ lineup and switch EVERY screen? Remember Lebron’s Heat with their crazy, switching, trapping, pressing defense? Dave Cowens could switch out to every guard, meaning that you could absolutely destroy teams defensively if you pair up the two of them. You can find a few more scorers in later rounds – for now, I’m taking one of the top 3 players still available!
With Kareem…Tiny Archibald
Kareem doesn’t have a ‘need’ – you just go for the best wing/guard available at this point. I think the most destructive talent you’re going to find is Tiny Archibald. Let’s start with the obvious – the dude led the NBA in points and assists in the same season. He was a 3 time 1st team player. 6 time all-star. His defensive deficiencies? Covered by playing with Kareem. Not the most consistent – but at his peak, unguardable.

ZouldiersParticipantNets: Sidney Moncrief. Lebron gets a player similar to Wade and can shut down Jordan.
Grizzlies: Penny Hardaway. Kareem gets to play with a guy similar to Magic and Oscar Robertson

anyone going for Shawn kemp over Willis reed or Dave cowens is officially on crack.

morestealsthanscoresParticipantI can’t even believe that Bob McAdoo isn’t getting votes…they’re the top three players left on the board and it’s not even close. We’re going to get to the next round and have the chance to pair Magic or MJ with two former MVPs, and basically win this draft…
