sweaterflexParticipantCelts take Korkmaz for upside and secondary ballhandling. Honestly, I think they will trade this pick. I could see someone trading up for Skal if he falls.

Pacersfan22ParticipantMalik Beasley. Beasley is an excellent shooter and would fit well off the bench. Who knows if/when James Young develops (still very young) and if RJ Hunter amounts to anything for this team so I have them grabbing Beasley here. I might be higher on Beasley then some but he reminds me of a healthy Bradley Beal.

dremill24ParticipantTaurean Prince.
You can never have too many 3 and D wings with size. Prince can come in and contribute in both areas right away, and has the size to slide to the 4 in smaller lineups, much like Crowder. The Cs have a lot of smaller combo guards but not too many big wings. They go with the more polished role player to help with another playoff run after taking the raw Bender earlier, and more than likely a European stashed player later at 23.

JoacoddrParticipantBoston will focus on improving their roster with the free agency so every dollar they save is important. Following this idea and seeing that no euro player has been drafted yet my vote is on Timothe Luwawu.

HitsterParticipantThey took a Euro big at 3 on our mock, so I’d have to look for a backcourt/swingman type guy to balance their draft up. Korkmaz would seem a decent choice but taking two Euros may not be an ideal choice as they may draft and stash further Euros with their later picks.
It comes down to Beasley or Richardson, I go with the slightly larger Richardson due to his impressive wingspan as he gives better defensive options.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantNot sure if the Celtics wind up keeping this pick but I like the idea of drafting a potential 3 and d wing here. I’m gonna go with Beasley because I’m more familiar with him then luwawu but either one would make sense.

OhCanada-ParticipantZhou Qi. They have too many picks they need to stash someone. He has the best upside as far as draft and stash prospects go and amongst the most unique prospects in this draft. He has expressed a want to play overseas for a year to build strength and learn English. Celtics use him as a value pick. Drafting Zhou at 16 from an asset perspective allows the team to invest a mid 1st round pick and allow it to grow into more value as he develops. Chances are when he learns that English and adds 20 pounds he will be more valuable then a 1st round pick.

Chilbert arenasParticipantTaurean Prince, safe pick who can space floor and potential to be a nightmare on defensive side of the ball. I think a lot of GMs are going to be gunning for long 6’6-6’8 athletes who can switch almost anything.

llperezBeasley, I know celts could use a big but I just think Beasley is too good a prospect to pass up here. James young and rj hunter will have one more obstacle in their way.

natevalParticipantTaurean Prince is the pick for me. With his defensive versitility he has a chance to earn some minutes

Arc12345ParticipantI think they’ve done well with developing their forwards in the past. Jae Crowder will be due for a pay day sooner or later, and Prince is certainly worth taking here. He’s ready to play.
Boston will have quite the group of forwards/bigs (Crowder, Sullinger, Olynyk, Jerebko, Johnson, Zeller, and then Prince). Now that I list them all out, it seems to make more sense to get a guard that can play multiples positions. I think Beasley would be a better fit for the roster, but I doubt the roster will remain in tact by the end of draft day.

omphalosParticipantI’ll go with Skal, they have so many bigs that are RFA or with player options that a player with similar potential to Bender as a fail-safe is the best plan.
He can shoot, has length to defend and will be perfect for Stevens.
They already have a whole heap of wings and guards, it’s time to get bigs with defensive potential.

festar35ParticipantDenzel Valentine – He is a potential replacement for Evan Turner and offers a lot to the Celtics 2nd unit.

HobbyOGParticipantI say Skal, they need a shot blocker, but like the homie said in the earlier post they will prob trade this pick so they have more flexability in signing a free agent.

I am an idiotParticipantIf the assumption is that all teams hold their picks, the C’s need to stash players (they can’t take all eight). Korkmaz is the best available and they need help on the wing. Zhou may still be available with their last 1st rounder

ph90702Don’t be surprised if it’s Patrick McCaw. He and Brad Stevens already have a relationship. He recruited McCaw while he was still the head coach at Butler.

nill650ParticipantIn this game they took Bender which is less of a possibility, as Chriss is killing it in workouts and looks like the more upside player, esp if they cannot get any big name players from trade early.like Okafor.
More of a probability imo is that they will draft Dunn at 3 and try to move Thomas. use him as trade chip maybe for Okafor,at which point they would draft Prince or Beasley here.
But since they took Bender in this game and even if they took Chriss or Dunn or traded the 3rd, I think they would take Damian Jones here if they did not get a deal done for Okafor.
