I do think Thon is the right pick here. It keeps them young, builds for the future, and acts as a potential replacement for Faried and Nurkic who always seem to injured. Faried may walk as well.

It’s hard to say how fast he’ll be able to contribute, but again who really knows until you see them play…

Jokic ended up being a really player in his rookie year and was all rookie first team. Not saying Thon will be that, but that’s a pretty good pair to build around in the future for your bigs.

I agree I vote for Thon, I think this is easily a spot for the nuggets to reach for a boom or bust project like Thon or Skal, makes it really nice having the 7 pick because with this pick they have the luxury of already having a top ten player picked so they don’t absolutely have to hit on this pick.

They have young bigs. They need a another young wing to make Barton-Gallinari expendable as they continue their youth rebuild. Go Luwawu.

Good point. But in this scenario Barton is already expendable. Mudiay, Dunn and Harris can lockup 96 minutes of gaurdplay and potential form one of the better backcourts in the league defensively they would be so annoying to play against. The bigs Jokic, Nurkic and Faried are good but not quite over the top type talents which makes a Labissiere or Maker (elite potential) type pick make sense.

Although playing into your theory Galinari is still far from expendable so if they were to go that route the pick would be Taurean Prince. He adds a similar element from Galinari as a SF-PF.  Luwawu covers SG-SF yet they are fine at SG as stated above. Prince is the best SF-PF in the draft not named Ingram and I believe Chriss is more of a PF-SF as he doesn’t have the handles to play SF yet.

Also it is likely a high upside PF/C is available with thier next pick. If not Maker or Skal there’s tons of bigs that fit the same mold like Zhou but Prince will likely be gone by then.

I’ve been saying skal for the past 2 selections so I’m not going to switch it up here. I agree it would make sense to gamble on a big with potential here but I just think skal is slightly less of a risk than Maker at this point.

Timothe Luwawu. Denver won’t draft three players this draft so a draft-stash is possible

Zhou Qi and Yabusele are also very possible selections here depending on how Denver wants to go here with this pick.

    Skal Labissiere

Skal shows promise as both a shot blocker and a rim protector, which is what everyone is looking for in a big. He seriously struggles at UK, and won’t be able to do much for a year or two while he gets stronger, but having already made a top 10 pick, the risk is much easier to take at #15.

I don’t like either guy. They’re both tall, way too skinny. Both mobile. But Skal can shoot, and has recently played some competition over the age of 16. I’m failing to see what separates Maker.

Denver loves Euros, I would guess they take Luwawu. Denver is oddly deep at every position for a team in their building stage, power forward may be more of a need but Gallo and Chandler can slide up and Jokic can slide down in a pinch. I would also not be surprised if they looked at a backup point guard with this or their next pick.

Good spot for Maker, they have faried and a thon of tweeners, he’ll have time to develop but competition ain’t untouchable.

    + i want Skal to the Celts…

First off, Dunn will not fall to the Nuggets at 7, no way in hell.

Not only that they would never pick him there anyway with Mudiay on the roster, unless they pick him for another team.So lets say they did.

if they picked Dunn for another team we don’t know who they got in trade but my guess with who is available in this game its between Beasley,Korkmaz and with the outside chance they think Dunn and Mudiay can play together than they would take a gamble on a project big here, but I don’t see it.

Skal Labissiere. The nuggets do have a plethora of bigs however Labissiere is a good shooter and can be a solid rim protector. Labissiere might be a little skinny right now and needs to hit the weight room but he is a gamble worth taking at 15 especially considering he was in the running before the season to go #1.
