My vote 100% goes for Thon Maker, Bulls are in a spot that swinging for the fences is a good option for where they are as a team, also joakim might not be back as well. I can see Thon in a bulls uniform already looking just like manute bol….

Dejounte Murray – The Bulls need a backup and they can develop him behind Rose for a while and play exceptional while Rose is injured, because it’s bound to happen.

It’s either Murray or Aaron Brooks. The Bulls make the easy pick here and select Dejounte Murray.

    Guard play, playmaking, facilitator.

    Luwawu or Baldwin.

I’ll go with baldwin, he could play off guard with butler and/or rose(if not traded).

     Dejounte Murray.

The Bulls obviously need a dynamic guard behind Rose, and Murray’s speed can be a major weapon. Not sure about his point guard Potential, but coming off the bench, he can focus on creating with his good handle and making plays.

Long term, he has the size to play the 2 next to Butler, just really needs to refine his jump shot.  If he can do that, he can be a dynamic guard in the league.

Dejounte Murray. Bulls need a backup at PG. Murray is also a player, if developed correctly, tha could make Rose expendable when he becomes a Free Agent and can take over the starting spot at PG next season

Agree it’s time for the Bulls to swing for the fences. While that hasn’t been their strong suit (much better at  drafting ‘low risk’ players; Rose, Taj, McBuckets, Butler vs Ty Thomas, James Johnson, Marquise Teague), this team needs a major upgrade in talent. Without (probably) Gasol and Noah I would be fine with them taking a shot on Thon too. But personally, I’d go Dejounte.

Bulls need frontcourt help with Noah and gasol both likely gone. They would probably prefer a more seasoned prospect like sabonis but based on the players available I think they go with skal. I believe Brice Johnson would be a reach at this point and maker is just too much of an unknown to draft this high.

Wade Baldwin can play either guard position, with Derrick Rose injury history and the unknown of whether the Bulls will bring back Jimmy Butler or trade (they should keep barring a major haul), Baldwin makes the most sense. The Bulls need another big man with Noah most likely gone and Gasol entering free agency as well, but they can address this need in free agency rather then chancing Skal Labissiere. Baldwin can backup Rose and possibly be his successor in a year or 2. Baldwin shot over 40% from 3 both seasons at Vanderbilt and averaged just over 5 assists. He is a freakish athlete with a 6’11 wingspan and had the second fastest lane agility time at the combine. With his stock continually rising he might go as high as 8 to the Kings with the Darren Collison domestic violence case but if he is on the board at 14 this is a perfect eventual replacement for Rose.

Valentine and Sabonis are not taken yet in this draft imo and both are in play here, I do not believe Dejounte Murray will be available either.

with that said I think if available wade baldwin makes a lot of sense for the bulls but the lack of any more picks in the first round and needs all over the place,

I think if the draft went like we have it, esp if they are not interested in projects like Maker or Skal they would go with Luwawu.

I’ll go with Dejounte Murray as he could play around Rose and Butler and gives them extra backcourt depth.

If I had selected a frontcourter then I’d have taken Brice Johnson whose comparison is Taj Gibson so who better to mentor him than Taj.

But Murray wasa BPA so I went with him. Getting closer to Maker time though too.

This all depends on how serious the Bulls are about re-signing Gasol and/or Noah. I like the idea of Bobby Portis having a more prominent role in their rotation, but I’m not sure he’s ready for that yet. Gibson and Mirotic absolutely are ready to be full-time starters, so I actually think they’ll be ok in the frontcourt no matter what. However, I don’t think it would hurt to consider a big man here.

However, Aaron Brooks and Etwaun Moore are also free agents. The Bulls are already super thin in the backcourt, and even if they resign those guys they need more backcourt depth. I like Wade Baldwin, but I think he’s a reach at 14. Beasley is probably the best scoring guard on the board, but the Bulls need someone who can play both guard positions. I think Dejounte Murray has a higher ceiling than both of them.

My vote is Dejounte Murray. I think a good big man (potentially an international prospect) will drop and be available at 48.

with D.Murray here. A prospect fo the back court is needed . Beasley would also be a solid choice in this range

Just knowing the Bulls’ draft history with this FO, they would never pick someone like Dejounte Murray.  Their preference has been players who know how to play and were well-coached.  With the exception of Marquis Teague (they didn’t even scout him much, he just fell to them so he was a "value" pick) they’ve pretty much stuck by that.  Murray has neither of those aforementioned qualities. He’s a glorified streetballer so I think the Bulls would pass.

Baldwin is more of a Bulls pick if they were looking for a guard.
