32tn32ParticipantI just like to throw underrated names out there. But kevin garnnet in his prime was an amazing thing to watch. Great leadership. Plays a dirty game to help the team wins. Td and kg are very debately giving the edge to td for having the better career. But I prefer to have prime kg with his versatility .

morestealsthanscoresParticipantthree points:
1) zachattack – would be really helpful to add numbers to the draft recap just so we can see who was drafted at what position – at a glance
2) my two votes stay with Bill Russell and Kobe.
3) I promise I’m not taking this personally, but if I was in a draft war room with y’all, I’d be going out to bat for my man Bill Russell. I mean, I don’t want to sell him to you, but if this was a real draft, his scout report would read:
– proven winner, consistently, at all levels
– defensive lynchpin, tenacious rebounder, leader, underrated scorer
– 6’9 – strong enough and skilful enough to bully guys on the low block, but flexible enough to switch out on guys on the perimeterthe negatives would read:
– unproven against the highest competition, modern day athleticism etcgiven the rise of smallball in 2016, I would think Bill Russell’s all time value would be curving up. a guy that could lock down a big man on the block but also switch out onto small forwards like lebron and KD? (and watch the tapes, the guy had footspeed and smarts – he definitely could’ve done). In 2016, he would definitely be the most dominant centre, and it’s not even close – OK, not a ‘pure’ centre like Hakeem or Shaq from the decades before, but one that perfectly fits todays style. I genuinely can’t believe he’s still on the board.
rant over 😉

morestealsthanscoresParticipantoh, and if you’re going to comment on the pace/skill level of the game back then, then I can only assume you’re judging by today’s standards, which means that in this draft, we can safely assume that our bill Russell will have access to 2016 coaching/training methods that would let him attain said athletic standards 😉

^ This. Also given how players are measured nowadays in shoes, Russell would probably be listed at 6-11. There’s pics of a 70+ year old Russell standing next to Dwight Howard and Ben Wallace and being a couple inches taller than Wallace and the same height as Howard. With today’s weight training and professional diets he would probably be at least 20 lbs of muscle heavier too. He was also a freak athlete who was one of the best high jumpers in the country and was a track star in the 400m.

mamadouParticipantBig O and Russell.
I hesitated with robert horry tho…
Big O was a 30-10-9 player in his first 8 seasons in the league, even better as a college player, then he joined kareem to win a title because nobody never won a title alone.
