valentineEven though i think he should return to Kentucky for at least 1 more year..Cousins has been playing very well lately..And is quickly becoming 1 of the best big men in the nation..And he owes it to Coach Cal..Cal wanted him to concentrate on playing the post..Not hanging out on the perimeter being a 6’10 guard like he was in high school…His post moves are like those of a 10 year vet..But if he truly wants to be great he’s going to have to learn to control his temper..At times he can be really immature..When he gets to the NBA guys will be lining up to kick his ass…

bobbybParticipantgreg monroe is def. the better pick

DanEboyParticipantThere is no doubt about this guys potential. If he gets his act together he could be a force in the NBA. I think Turner is the most NBA ready player in the draft. His offensive game reminds me of Pippen, not his defense though.
I really want Monroe and Cousins to grow up and do well in the NBA just to prove Aran Smith wrong. He has been down on Monroe for years and currently on Cousins’ case. I don’t agree with him on most topics
……and there goes my account

lalailaParticipantyes he could be, to be honest he is really the best player in UK in last couple weeks..and i start to believe he is 1&done..it would be too crazy to stay when you are on the final four team and ranked as top5 pick or something..
i would love to see him in Detroit, both PF and C positions aren;t that strong he would play some minutes for sure, it would be good place for him to improve

doubledribblerParticipantIndiana say what? No offense, but if you have noticed anything that Indiana has been doing is tha tthey have been moving away from all guys with questionable character. They have also been moving away from all wins, but that is another story.

JoeWolf1He is had a very good season and do doubt improved his stock, but he reminds me a lot of Samaki Walker who went 9th in the 1996 draft. They are very similar in size and their games are also very similar. However, he also reminds me more of Lorenzen Wright who was also taken in that draft. Wright had a solid career as a 6’11” 260 pound center who had a very solid and lengthy NBA career although he never went to any all-star games. He no doubt has a lot of potential, but I think a realisitic outlook on Cousins is a Lorenzen Wright type player and if he lets his attitude get in the way…Samaki Walker.

SlimParticipantreminds me of Erick Dampier

JoeWolf1another big man from the 96 class. I though Dampier because of size, but I think Cousins has more offensive game and will most likely never be a rebounding/defensive specialist in the NBA, in my opinion. Wright was never a big scorer, but at his best few years was a 13 pt 9 rebound 1.5 block kind of guy. Not a specialist, but just a guy who does a couple things pretty well, pretty solid all around without being great at anything.

SlimParticipanthe has temper issues

GETMONEYParticipantCousins can be a dominant big man at the next level his game is at the next level already at a freshman compared to walker and wright both of who’s game was not nearly at the level his is at now. and yes he has a fucked up attitude now but that will come with maturity he is still only a freshmen so stop trying to pick lame reasons to shit on his game look at zach randolph and beasley randolph a all star now and besley is rounding into form Cousins is gonna be a beast at the next level.

gatorheelsParticipantTo those saying Moroe is better…r u all crazy?
Cousins would absolutely dominate Monroe. I would take Cousins over Monroe if I was a GM & wouldn’t think twice about it.

JNixonParticipantCousins is better than Monroe. I’d have to agree there. I do think that Monroe will be better immediately though.

WälseParticipanti think Cousins is too unathletic to be a force in the NBA. he can be solid, sure. but never dominant imo. maybe something like Magloire…i prefer Monroe

finneganParticipantmonroe isnt as good as cousins on his freshmen year. i prefer dominant freshmen over dominant sophomore
dont be surprised if at the end of the season, cousins will lead the #1 rank team kentucky in scoring, rebounding and blocks as a freshmen and win the freshmen of the year award to beat his teamate buddy john wall.
one thing for sure, kentucky player will get the freshmen of the year award (thats lock), its either wall or cousins
