As a Kansas fan I’d love for Selden to come back, but this site is the only site I’ve seen to say this will happen. Granted it’s all a guess, but is this prediction based on anything?

but I’d assume that Selden has to do more to prove himself as a scorer before entering the NBA.  You need to score to play SG at the NBA, with a few exceptions, so Selden showing ability to consistently score will help. He has had a couple big games lately before cooling off at Iowa State, so there may be hope, but those games seemed more like just hot shooting games.  His scoring hasn’t been bad, but he is a little too reliant on his jump shot and hasn’t been scoring in double-figures consistently.

I like Selden’s game, but he has been a little too much of a jump shooter this season.  Granted, he hasn’t been a featured player in Kansas’s line-up, basically being the fifth-option in Kansas’s starting lineup, so it isn’t all his fault, but I need to see him do more work in the PnR and attacking the basket off the dribble before I’d be comfortable projecting him as a lottery pick, which he has the talent to become.

He is the fourth option on a team with two top three picks.  He wont get the touches he needs to succeed consistantly.  I think a second year would do him wonders.  He is so strong and attacks the basket really well.  However, he only has decent touch once he gets there.  I think he needs to stay one more year to be a 8-14 pick next year instead of late first this year.

Player Rankings on here are a Big Board and based on the way a player is currently playing..And right now Selden isnt performing consistently…

But I read that a few eastern confernce scouts said they hopes he stays at Kansas another year.. And believes he will dominate as the go to guy with Wiggins & Embiid gone, and he could become a top 5 pick..But he if he comes out this year, he still is a mid to late 1st rounder……

He probably would be a likely mid-late first round pick. He has a great body, solid agility for his size, length and even some vision. However, he has really only had three good games out of 16. They were big games, good wins, he even did well against Duke. Still, does not exactly scream "NBA ready".

Had those two big back-to-back games against Oklahoma and KSU, so people sort of thought he might move up. Though, it is all about consistency. His jumper has not been consistent, he has not exceptionally well from the FT line and while he got this reputation as KU’s most college ready freshman, has shown he has a lot of work to do. He also has been a bit careless with the ball and has first step is really nothing special.

I am not sure he will be a top 5 pick, though with another year under his belt, he could crack the lottery. His physical characteristics and upside still have him likely being around the 20’s, though with a little more seasoning, could crack the lotto in 2015. Really do believe he would still be playing with a better prospect on the wing, as Kelly Oubre is pretty damn nice. Wayne would probably cut down on his mistakes and probably improve as a mid range shooter and overall decision making, probably saving at least a year of riding the pine in the NBA.

I think he should come back for another year. He’s got a nice skillset, a strong body and good athletic ability, but I feel he lacks a signature trait. He’s a bit of a jack of all trades master of none, and I think he’s probably a guy who’d get taken 15-25 this year. Obviously not a bad position, but I don’t see him as a guy who’d get much burn next year as a rookie.

On the other hand, I feel that coming back he could work on his point skills, and his signature trait ( I would guess this would be outside shooting at this point in his development ). With a little work this guy could be top 10, and he and Kelly Oubre could be a great 1/2 punch on the wing next year for KU.

In his case, I also think that being more ready to play in the NBA will help his development. I think he can learn just as much if not more playing a #1 option for the Jayhawks next season, than he could playing garbage time or in the D-League for a playoff team if he gets drafted in the 20’s.

I think Wayne will be a good pro guard, but he just looks like a guy who’d rot on the bench next season if he were to leave, while if he stayed he could have the luxury of playing minutes at the point guard, taking on a new role in the offense and do so with another talented group of high level NCAA players.
