cbeckermanParticipantcould you imagine how successful they would be right now if he did with all the great work he put in to rebuilding the knicks I mean look at how many all stars he attracted with almost max contracts his pistons could be almost as successful as jordans bobcats are- its a pretty high standard but if anyone can match or beat jordans level of success its isiah, they should have been begging for isiah to take the franchise. the city of detroit NEEDED for this to happen.

aamir543ParticipantNot every former star is a loaded as Mike. They might be multi-millionares, but not billionares.

Da1potParticipantThat’d be like when Christian Laettner tried to buy 70% of the Grizzlies and then realized "wait I can’t come up with $252 million in just 90 days"……………….

M-DYMESParticipantAgain…because purchasing a sports franchise nowadays is a horrible investment if you are seeking a financial profit.
If you are loaded and have nothing else better to do with your money then go for it. Or if you are a huge fan or competitor who would relish the affiliation and ownership of a sports franchise.
Come’on, why would you want to purchase a team when there was a highly likely lockout in the works (now in full swing).
