Andrew1984ParticipantEver since you were a kid playing in rec. leagues and all through high school, even on the playground, you’ve no doubt noticed that big guys shoot differently than guards. It’s not easy to put into words, but it definitely has more of a taking-an-extra-moment-to-load-up-the-gun motion to it.
Which player in today’s NBA has the stereotypical, quintessential "Big Man Shot?" Or, to rephrase: Who is the Bill Cartwright of 2015-2016?

herceg_bukuParticipantYou are correct big men do shoot differently, and what do they all have in common… they all shoot from a very high position at the top or above their head. This is due to the fact that as young players they are thought to do this so that they wouldnt get blocked.

ropeParticipantHe is just a rookie, but Myles Turner’s step back turnaround jumper in the post looks a lot like Jack Sikma’s from the Sonics / Bucks in the 1980s.

T RexTurned could end up like some freak combination of Rashard Lewis and Dwight all in the same body.

tuck243ParticipantI don’t think it’s as common because most of these kids have access to so many things today that a lot of people didn’t in the early 2000’s… The age of YouTube has enabled a lot of these kids to get better and shoot properly.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantDefinitely pao gasol or Brook Lopez. Both keep the ball extremely high and get very little lift. Both are very effective mid-range shooters though due to incredible touch.
