the I in winParticipantI think it has to be a point.

DanEboyParticipantI say Billups but he said that he was looking forward to going to Mexico with his wife and relax for a couple of days, sounded like he meant it. He is having a great season and should be an all-star over Ellis. If they wanted to go big I would say Bynum. Poor Camby, not one all-star appearance on his resume.

the I in winParticipantCamby hasn’t been an allstar? Lets put him in, it is an exhibition game so he could play point.

quinceyhodgeslol..im pretty sure those plans would change. players always say they are looking foward to something else when they arent picked. im willing to bet anything that he doesnt turn down a allstar invitation. i cant remeber anyone who was healthy ever turning down a allstar invite. if anyone else can remember please let me know

esperanzafleet69Participantput kaman in there or ellis
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 10:10am #252374

Bryant24ParticipantIt should be monta ellis or chauncey billups
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 10:10am #252375
quinceyhodgesnot gonna happen. billup deserves it more then either because hes actually winning. the want winners on the team which is why all the players are coming from winning teams
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 12:18pm #252422

MagikKnickParticipantIt doesnt have to be a guard….
Last year Mo Williams replaced Chris Bosh
But regardless, i think it’ll go to Chauncey…since now it takes a “winner” to go to the all-star game, Kaman and Ellis probably wont make it
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 3:58pm #252474

IndianaBasketballParticipantBillups… IF he declines, then it should be Aaron Brooks.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 4:33pm #252485

thaprodigyParticipantThe allstar game is made for players like Ellis
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 4:41pm #252488

IndianaBasketballParticipantThat’s right… I said Aaron Brooks!!!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 4:43pm #252489

JNixonParticipantMonta Ellis. Come on. It’s fairly obvious to me
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 4:47pm #252490

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe’s had a great season, but his team is 13 and 33… All-Star caliber season, but he’s not an All-Star in my opinion.
Aaron Brooks on the other hand is leading a Houston team, many expected to be just as bad as Golden State, to the playoffs…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:03pm #252500
BasketballGuru24ParticipantYou guys are not serious monta ellis has to be the guy going with out a doubt look what he is averaging.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:04pm #252503

JNixonParticipantI tend to think he’s more deserving than Aaron Brooks though. Brooks has more to do with a collective team effort, but Ellis is playing All-Star basketball individually. So I think he’s more deserving
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:12pm #252510
BasketballGuru24ParticipantAll-Star Game is meant for great individual performances never was A ” Also team record ” thing. monta ellis is averaging crazy numbers and will make the game interesting period
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:42pm #252527

IndianaBasketballParticipantHow is Ellis more deserving than Brooks when his team is the 3rd worst team in the entire NBA and is headed nowhere? Brooks on the other hand is averaging over 19 points and 5 assists, and is the leader of a team that’s overachieving and heading towards the playoffs.
Ellis has had a great individual season on a terrible team that’s heading downward… Nelson allows him to do whatever he wants in that offense. He plays the whole game and takes all of the shots he wants… He’s attempted almost 300 more shots than Brooks and is averaging over 22 attempts per game… He shoots more than 99.9% of the SUPERSTARS in the league. He leads the league in turnovers. All that and his team only has 13 wins… How much value you put into that is up to you.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:45pm #252530

R-Dot-13ParticipantAARON BROOKS
I agree with above ^^
without him.. Houston sucks.
If not, Ellis.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:48pm #252534

JNixonParticipantHe’s going to have to shoot more because they don’t have that many scorers. I think Ellis is more deserving than Aaron Brooks is. Brooks is playing great, but he’s not more deserving than Monta Ellis. I’d be SHOCKED if they let Brooks play over Ellis.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:55pm #252541
MrWoLeeParticipantEllis is playing without:
Anthony Randolph
Brandan Wright
Anthony Morrow
Kelenna Azibuke
and for a majority of the season so far Andris Biedrins, CJ Watson, and Ronny Turiaf
I know what you’re thinking…Houston doesn’t have Yao AND T-Mac, but T-Mac is back, and Adelman isn’t playing him. They have players like Trevor Ariza, Carl Landry, Luis Scola..Monta has Corey Maggette, Steph Curry, and a cast of D-Leaguers…(4 as of yesterday)
So do the Rockets have a better record? Absolutely. Would the Warriors be better if they weren’t starting 2 D-Leaguers a night? You bet. Monta leads the league in turnovers because he’s forced to do more than he can handle IMO (coming from a Warriors fan) Last year Devin Harris and Danny Granger made the all-star team and yet they played on teams with horrible records as well, not as bad as the Warriors this year, but bad all the same. I’m not saying Monta deserves it flat out over Billups, or even Brooks (who is having a great year), but he should get at LEAST serious consideration. If you watch a Warriors game you see he hustles EVERY minute he’s out there.0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:55pm #252538

IndianaBasketballParticipantJust like people were shocked when Horford made it over Lee, right lol? The coaches award winning ALONG with individual performance. Ellis won’t be the first or last to have a great individual season and not make the team due to his team’s record. I mean, they’ve won 13 games… If Ellis was on a playoff caliber team, I can guarantee you that he wouldn’t be attempting over 22 shots per game… The Warriors are playing for absolutely nothing… They already know they’re not making the playoffs, so there’s really no pressure.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 5:59pm #252546

JNixonParticipantChauncey Billups has a better chance than Brooks anyway. It would be Ellis or Billups, then Brooks would be next in line.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 6:03pm #252549

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m not saying he shouldn’t get consideration. I’m not taking anything away from Ellis. He’s just doing all of his work on a bad team and that’s going to be counted against him. I mean, you can’t ignore the fact his team has 13 wins. They haven’t been good at ANY part of the season, while Houston has been good from the get go. The Warriors have had some injuries, but let’s be honest here… Houston is a team full of hard nosed role players. They’re overachieving big time and Brooks is leading that surge.
Yea… Harris and Granger did make it last season in the EAST. I mean, you can be below .500 and make the playoffs as an 8th seed over here lol. The West is so much deeper… I mean, there are 25 win teams right now that are right outside of the playoffs.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 6:11pm #252554

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t understand how you can say Ellis should be in over Brooks so easily, but not over Billups… Based on your reasoning, Ellis should be in over Billups too. Billups and Brooks are putting up similar numbers and making similar clutch plays for their teams… Denver is seven games ahead in the standings, but they’re also considered to be an elite team with other All-Star caliber players.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/01/2010 - 6:13pm #252557

JNixonParticipantI do think Ellis should be in over Billups. I said Billups or Ellis. I wouldn’t be mad at either one, but I think both of them are more deserving than Brooks. Ellis should be the 1st alternate in the Western Conference
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/02/2010 - 5:24am #252601

Chicago1980ParticipantI think Billups is gonna make it but if Roy doesnt play who is gonna take his spot any suggestions maybe tony parker or russell westbrook.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 02/02/2010 - 8:45am #252630
quinceyhodgesnot sure if anyone has watched the selections but winning is a part of it. if they put a ymca team in the nba and they only won 7 out of 40 but one of there players was getting 25 a game do you put them on the allstar team?..yeah hes puttin gup good numbers but the team doesnt benifit from them because they keep losing. if brooks can be considered then mayo as well as westbrook can also be considered. brooks averages 4 more points but that evens out since westbrook averages 2 more ast and 2 more reb. id be ok with any of those 3 since they are all playing very well on winning teams. and if its not going by positions and hortford can make it then bynum can as well
