valentineThe other day I thought of this and the 2 players that came to mind where Mark Madsen of Minnesota,DJ Mbenga for the Lakers. Its a super random question but I thought you guys would have some interesting players.

A. StockI Am From Minnesota And I Go To A Few Wolves’ Games A Year. Mark Madsen… Is Really Bad. The Title As The Worst Player In The NBA Has To Be Owned By Either Madsen Or Ryan Bowen. They Both Are Ridiculously Bad.

usfballerParticipantConsidering he is now on his 5th team, is 6’10” and athletic AND NO ONE IS WILLING TO EVEN PLAY HIM, I am throwing Cedric Simmons in. I am not even sure how good/bad he is seeing as I have never seen him play in the league.

James-Harden-13Participantcurry’s career numbers are 13 and 5 which is not terrible, but when you take into consideration he was the 4th overall pick he has to be up there for worst players in the association. this is a great topic, but i feel like that should have been a qualifier, whether the guy is just plain bad, or bad because they have failed to live up to their potential/draft pick.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 03/01/2009 - 5:26pm #142663

cdmPSU17ParticipantI’m surprised no one mentioned the less-than venerable Jerome James. At least Curry got minutes when he was healthy/able to play under the Larry Brown/Isaiah Thomas debacle. James signed a huge deal and played about 5 TOTAL minutes last season. If you can’t get PT for a 20 win team, then you must be one of if not the worst players in the NBA.

doubledribblerParticipantThe Collins twins. There was one that played for NJ for forever and actually started. He was horrible. He played tons of minutes, but easily had the numbers of someone that played 4 or 5 a game. His brother in Utah might be slightly better, but they are both fairly useless except to set picks.

0 - Posted on: Tue, 03/03/2009 - 12:11pm #142766
storm33ParticipantOk, Will Bynum is by no means the worst player in the NBA. Anyone that was watching the Pistons/Celtics game could have seen that, as he was a sparkplug off the bench (9 points, 3 assists, 2 steals) that helped the Pistons take down the Celtics. As for the worst NBA players in the league, I’d have to go with Mark Madsen, Chuck Hayes, Patrick O’Bryant, Jake Voskuhl, Ryan Bowen, Hamed Haddadi, Robert Swift, Cheikh Samb, and Brian Cardinal. Adonal Foyle belongs on this list, but I think he just was released.

DeLaQuestParticipantI’m a Bobcats fan, and all I can say is Will Bynum destroyed us twice last year.
Has anyone mentioned Adam Morrison? He can’t play D. He can’t rebound. And he can’t shoot or create his own shot even though that’s supposed to be his strength. If you think I’m wrong check his stats. I sat through many a game at the Bobcats’ arena looking for something positive in his 3-10ish shooting performances.
He looked decent at the beginning of this season and then lost all confidence. Hopefully the knee will get back into shape and he can get it together.
But I wouldn’t be surprised is he’s out of the league once his rookie contract is up. Very sad for a number 3 pick.
But, hey!! Now he’s an NBA champion!!

marcusfizer21ParticipantMichael Ruffin would be the worst and the funniest looking player ever… Josh McRoberts is still young… He has a lot to prove including the ones who are saying he is one of the worst… Kwame Brown is a bust but I don’t think he is the worst… He is a great defensive player though…but I would agree on Jason Collins, man was he horible dawg… AWFUL…just plain AWFUL…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 7:41pm #164600

sheltwon3ParticipantSome of the people yall listing are not even close to the worst. They may be bad as far as their hype but I do agree Madsen is not a NBA player lol. He should not be there. Also there are some foreign players that need to go back home. Also just because a player does not get minutes does not mean he sucks. Some people are young and you have to give them time. madsen has 3 rings and no talent. They winner of the new Mark Madsen award is Adam Morrison although i will say that he is still decent. he could come off the bench and do well for most team but he has to get his confident back.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/14/2009 - 8:29pm #164613
piratejpParticipantWhen he was “playing”, Mateen Cleaves was the most useless player ever. He’s only been out of the league for a year, so I figured given his residual stinkiness, he was worth a mention.

0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 5:30am #164687
storm33ParticipantI don’t think Adam Morrison has been given a proper chance to fulfill his potential. I mean, he averaged 11.8 points in his rookie season and then was hurt for an entire year, and people were already saying he was a bust. Well, he averaged 4 points a game last year in just 13 minutes of play per game. I think that if Morrison finds a team that fits well, gets minutes, and gets his confidence up, that he can be a decent NBA player.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 6:17am #164713
piratejpParticipantThomas isn’t a worst-player type. He’s just a guy without a true position – too small for the 4, not ahtletic enough to play the 3 – and has a ridiculously large salary to boot. But on the right team he could contribute & given the right matchup, the guy can ball.
As a Kings fan myself though, I can certainly understand the sentiment. His anchor-like contract will finally be gone next year & we won’t ever have to watch him miss another layup from point-blank range again. Not a great player, horrible as a King, but still there are worse players out there.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 8:02am #164813
DeLaQuestParticipantTeams need to be careful about the hype surrounding athletically-limited mid-major scorers like Morrison.
They better do their homework on Stephen Curry. He has no length for 6’3″. He tested out with slow foot speed at the combine. He was able to coast through an extremely weak Conference schedule and save his strength for big-name non-conference games. Morrison did the exact same thing.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 8:52am #164796
DeLaQuestParticipantMorrison’s rookie 11.8 ppg is kind of meaningless when we consider that he was handed 30 minutes a game, encouraged to shoot because that’s the only thing he has any hope of excelling at, and was shooting only 37.6% for the season.
Then he shot even worse in his second season, and 4 pts in 13 minutes against second unit players translates to a mere 12 points for every 39 minutes, assuming he could continue that pace against starters. Meanwhile he can’t rebound or defend consistently.
Gerald Wallace got injured after the J-Rich trade and the Bobcats were hurting for Wings. Morrison had every chance to put up big numbers at that point, and he failed miserably. Bobcat fans hated to see him fail, but we were thrilled to get Radmanovich for him.
I just don’t know what is “decent” about Morrison other than the fact he might be a really decent person.
Now, can the knee heal up any further, and can Morrison actually shoot better than 40% when that is supposed to be his one and only strength? Time will tell.

Stanford hoopsParticipantyeah ok..if you really think curry is that bad then youve lost youre mind the athletic test are overrated ..if larry bird took that test he wouldnt look as good as he really is…..curry has a better wing span then Ty Lawson Patrick Mills
Jonny Flynn
Darren Collison
A.J. Price
and was only.7 sec slower then 8 of the top pg in the draft and .6 slower in the agility test…hmmmm i dont think id trash him too much on that and even though his conference was weak he stepped up big time against top level comp and unlike some of the other players on the top level teams the defense concentrated all on him yet he still would burn them..not only that he beat some of these top teams with a weak supporting cast0- Posted on: Mon, 06/15/2009 - 2:47pm #165235
DeLaQuestParticipantAll of those players with shorter wingspans are more natural PG’s than Curry.
If you are referring to sprint and agility testing, .7 and .6 seconds is a long time in those measurements.
Adam Morrison stepped up against bigtime teams when all of the defense was concentrated on him as well. Curry might become better than Morrison, but beware of the hype leading up to the draft.

Cannot shoot to save his life, Lost his quickness/explosiveness/Awareness/ and rebounding completely I think Mark Madsen vs Ben Wallace is a more even matchup than Madsen and scalabrini because scalabrini is way better than madsen…. Big ups to Ryan Bowen, Luke Schenscher, and steve Francis who finish behind Wallace in that order for the Whos Worse than Madsen Circus….

I know with the Celtics frontline he has a hard battle for PT but you figured KG could help his development a little.

Stanford hoopsParticipanthow you figure..curry played point this year and put up better scoring and assits numbers then all of them..which is saying something considering the people he was passing the ball to for assist wouldnt start on any of the top teams
0- Posted on: Tue, 06/16/2009 - 7:40pm #166132
DeLaQuestParticipantLawson, Maynor, and Flynn averaged more assists per game than Curry.
Yes, he had weak teammates, but they were not as weak as the poor defensive opponents Curry faced many times in the Southern Conference. Being double-teamed and being such a defensive focus, it was easy for him to find an open man against all of those sorry teams. Yeah, like Morrison, he put up big numbers when he faced major teams. But you have to consider he was getting 2-month vacation in the middle of the season known as the Southern Conference schedule.
Maybe Curry will prove me wrong, but I think Stephen is riding a hype machine because he’s a likeable kid from a tiny mid-major with an NBA dad. I’m very skeptical. Looks like a ‘tweener to me.

WizardofOzParticipantMichael Ruffin. He’s terrible. There;s nothing he is good at. He even caused the Wizards one of there games last season.
Why didn’t he just hold the ball? Is he sacred to shoot free-throws or something? And if you’re going to throw the ball, throw it higher in the air or throw it across the court. The ball went like 5 feet in the air. He’s just terrible.
