This doesn’t neccessarily need to be one of the best players in the league, but i would say lamar odom or andrea bargani

You could say Rashard Lewis…Even though he is more naturally a 3, he did play the 4.

Dirk is a much better player, but few in this league have Odom’s verastility. He can rebound, pass, block shots, play D and score. Very team oreiented and unselfish. Dirk is a great player, but has to score 20 plus to help his team.

I agree with Maravich, in terms of straight versatility, its gotta be Odom, he does it all, and does it all effectively

Dirk is great, but not as versatile as Odom

He is versatile on offense and Defense. Can cover almost every position on D. He spots up and shoots well, takes his man off the dribble, plays in the post. He is a great passer, blocks shots, gets steals. Cover the pick and roll better than any other big because of his ability to stay with the point guard. I like Dirk too, but he is not versatile on D

Odom cant shoot, rebound, or score like Nowitzki. Yes Odom passes and dribbles better, but Dirk is better at everything else.

Lamar Odom easy. He can play both the small forward and power forward so effectively, that I’m not for sure which position he is. If we’re saying he’s a power forward, then he’s by far the most versatile in the NBA.

Means able to do different things. Defense is just as important. None of those guys are as Versatile on O as they are on D more than Garnett. If you can guard all 5 positions that is Versatile big time. If you also have a Diverse offensive game that makes you even more Versatile. Garnett. I understand that basketballguru24. I just see the answer as Garnett.

Garnet can not guard all 5 positions…….he can barely play the center position. Odom plays Sf And PF and can guard from 2-4 position….he can shoot rebound and play D

More than Odom could in terms of playing Center. I have watched him do ball pressure on some of the fastest pointguards in the league picking them up at full court but to each is own. We have all seen it, when he smacks the ground gets real low and claps at the point to let him know he is getting picked up for about 90 feet. I understand, I agree Lamar is very Versatile just not the most to me.

During his prime, I would’ve said Garnett. Back then he could guard positions 1-5. I remember games where he’d actually guard MJ and Kobe. He was a great def. rebounder, blocked shots and racked up steals. He was also versatile on O too. He could handle, pass, off. rebound, shoot and post. Right now, it’s Odom though. Garnett is old now, not as athletic and has a weak knee.

This was his first. The title year he was doing the same thing. I understand the age difference, but he got hurt 1 season out off all his career. Like when Allen came to Boston people said he is old coming off of surgery. The next year he shot the best he ever had his whole career percentage wise and they one the title. So much for being old.

Garnett Only Plays PF……..That isn’t that versitile to me, In games he doesn’t “Match-up” to Point guards or shooting guards or even Small forwards….we see him “Match-up” against Power Forwards….he doesn’t have great handles….don’t get me wrong he is a great player but he is not as versitile as odom

Garnett has had a weak knee for awhile now (since in Minnesota), which is why he always wore the knee strap and knee brace/knee sleeve. Last season it finally gave out and he had no choice but to get surgery/seriously rest it.

Hedo turkoglu has better handles than all those players and passing skills. He’s my pick but hey…who cares about me?

I remember when Garnett played the PG with Minnesota in the conference finals against Lakers, man that was unique. Cassell and T-hudson was injured, he was tasked to do it. He started as SF when Joe Smith was still a T-wolf, and guarded Kobe and MJ when he was young. Ball handling? He pawned Gasol with his crossovers during the finals. He changed the perception on PFs. now a PF must have a sweet shooting stroke, finesse post moves and athleticism.
