kobe. Hes the guy who got the loudest cheers when they went to beijing and i would bet he would get the loudest cheers no matter what country they went to. Winning titles in the second biggest media market doesnt hurt either.

I don’t think there’s a hands down face of the league.

– Kobe isn’t going away and neither are the Lakers who look like they could win one or two more.

– LeBron’s "decision" didn’t hurt the attention he’s getting, but nobody likes him anymore. He hasn’t been able to snatch it completely away from Kobe like Jordan did from Magic and Larry.

– Durant, and his hardworking, humble and good boy image, is on the come up.

I don’t think Durant can really be the face of the league, because of the fact that he is so quiet.  The NBA needs a player who is loud and loves the attention.  Durant seems too humble for me.  We LOVE controversy and media hogging players.

I wouldn’t sleep on Durant having a shot at becoming the face of the league. During an anti-LeBron attitude world right now, Durant is looking like gold. And Durant really introduced himself to the rest of the world in Turkey.

the humble, hardworking quiet guy can work both ways in the beginning when kevin durant was just a rookie/sophmore and wasnt on tv that much and people werent sure he was going to be a league leading scorer it definatly didnt work for us. On the other hand he kept his head down and worked hard to get to where he is today and now that we’ve seen what he can do the "quiet humble hardworking" works because not only has he shown it but a lot of people can relate and like those types of people. Also to be real i dunn know about you guys but after a while attention wh.ores (lebron james, Chris Bosh) kind of get annoying.

But let’s be realistic, people love drama in the faces of leagues.  Shaq was always a character and loved to talk trash when he was the face, then Kobe had the rape scandal and he basically kicked out Shaq and Phil out of L.A. and that made him the face.  Now LeBron exploded into the scene and although he never had big scandals or fights, he was always willing to talk what he felt was right and spoke his mind.  We were able to find out who they were because they opened up to us, something KD hasn’t done yet. Then again, he is very very young.
