valentineim not asking about being a ok or good player im asking DOMINATE?
dominate as a freshman meaning a beasley,durant,
a rose that leads his team to the ncaa tournament
a paul millsap who lead the ncaa in rebounding
eric gordan before he got hurt
kevin love -great numbers and got far in the tournament
o.j mayo-first team all conference
tyreke evans-same thing
its onloy been three games but all dominate freshmen have played extremely well or dominated from day one
keep in mind how many freshman actually play better once the conference games start where teams have ample scouting reports

gregoden08ParticipantI think in conference play Favors will show his immense talent. So far, he has only been playing average, but it appears that Lawal has been taking away some of his rebounds and probably even some of his points so who knows.
Statistically, Lawal has better numbers than Favors. But it’s only 3-4 games into the seaosn.

quincey hodgesand when youre a dominate player greg then no one is gonna be taking away from youre shots, and you will be getting most of the boards. look at the freshmen in the past who were dominate..did they let other players take away from there shots or rebounds even from day one?….i think favors will be a good player this year but he will not be a dominate player

gregoden08ParticipantI feel that Favors will have some dominate games, but overall, he will have a good year. Probaly not dominate. Still early in the year though.

quincey hodgessome of ya’ll who over hype some of the freshmen and give excuses when they don’t do well need to stop seeing what they wanna believe and star believing what they see when these guys play

TobiasFunkeParticipantTake into account a majority of the players you listed were in the 06/07 high school classes — by far two of the greatest in recent memory. Also, dominance can’t be quantified simply by gaudy numbers on the offensive end; Oden put up 15.7/9.6 which is impressive, but certainly not at Beasley or Durant’s level (granted, Oden was essentially playing with one hand for a solid portion of the season). However, Oden was usually dominant on the defensive end, putting up nearly 3 blocks a game (not to mention all the shots he changed)….. I always saw Favors as more a defensive force/tremendous athlete who would gradually develop (or at least improve) on footwork/ fundamentals and a legit post-game in college. As the year progresses I think he’ll be around a 15.5/9/2 guy; the question is how much his shared post situation with Lawal will limit his stats.
