ropeParticipantWho do you think has completely played themselves out of the draft this year? My vote is Chris Walker. I can’t see him as being draftable this year or even next based on his lack of game. Zero impact player.

4th quarterParticipantWalker will still be a mid or late second pick because of his athletic skills and high school reputasion

qDizzle32ParticipantNot necessarily, James Michael McAdoo’s high school reputation didn’t give a spot in last year’s draft.

Lotto StudParticipantThat’s a ballsy call. Anyhow. What makes the right any more significant than the left? As a man, I need all that’s inside of me.

ph90702Chris Walker is an athlete, not a basketball player. He would be eaten alive in the NBA. The recruiting services missed badly on him.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantHis draft stock has taken a serious hit since he hasn’t made the type of improvement that was expected of him this year. Still has a shot to be a decent role player in the NBA imo but I don’t think he’ll be more than a late second rounder at best. Was being projected as potential lottery pick heading into the season.

JM40ParticipantI can’t see Marcus Paige, Alex Poythress, Rasheed Suilamon, or Marcus Foster getting drafted. I’d also throw Robert Upshaw on that list because of off-court issues.

phila9012ParticipantI thought poythress had the chance to be their glue guy this year and get drafted in back half of the draft, like terrence jones did after their national championship. He looked good in the summer. I feel bad for him, hopefully he can thrive in the NBA as a glue guy because he plays hard and plays good defense. If he develops a shot he has a chance to stick like damarree carroll.

ph90702I don’t know why you got negged for this. He’s not a terrible player by any means, but he doesn’t do anything at an NBA level. He doesn’t have a refined post game, he can’t block shots, and he can’t rebound.

TRC1991ParticipantSulaimon without a doubt…Should have gone to a school with more free reign first off, and secondly, his off-the-court issues plagued him

Memphis MadnessParticipantPoythress should try to come back.
His stock is probably really low.
Even if he does get drafted he will probably be stuck in D League purgatory for awhile. And, he won’t get paid much. Heck, he gets more in terms of room, board, and "stipends" at Kentucky. And, books, too, if he is a guy that really loves to read.
I am guessing that some of Kentucky guys go pro. Then Poythress can get a chance to showcase his skills (hopefully) next year at Kentucky. Even if he didn’t put up super stats, he could be like a Willie Cauley-Stein type leader and a guy that gives the team an identity.
For him, it’s not get drafted and go back to school, it’s D LEAGUE or F’ING KENTUCKY.
Some guys who normally "play themselves out of the draft" come off a great year with his team making a great run, then come back and don’t do better or even not as good. Then, they just get lost in the shuffle.
I would say Fred Van Vleet probably had a higher draft stock LAST year. This year, yeah, I am sure he is better, but would you draft a 3rd string point guard? If teams aren’t thinking "point guard point guard point guard" in the 2nd round then he could fall behind a bunch of "upside" guys and Euro Stash prospects.
Similar situation: Ryan Boatright. UConn was coming off a title run last year. Boatright’s stock may have been higher last year (even if it wasn’t really that high). Now, what if UConn misses out on the Tourney (which they probably will)? Will they remember Boatright on draft night? Best case scenario of mid-second round pick is still (probably on the board), but that was there last year.
What about Wayne Selden? Does he do anything? Is he doing anything? It seems like his draft stock has fallen since he came out of high school.
If a guy doesn’t have ELITE physical tools, then you should probably go pro after a great season/tourney run. Guys don’t get taller, or quicker, or longer, or more springy, BUT they could get lost in the shuffle even if they put up better stats and exhibit more leadership.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantAlso Kevin Pangos. He would have been a first round pick as a sophomore, second round as a junior, now he probably won’t be drafted as a senior.
