LegendParticipantsay clips because they seem to have more players who have been in the league at least a year and are very good. Also they have the top pick griffin who has been excellent. Grizz. have some tough players but i think the clipps match up to well and have more talent.

JNixonParticipantI think the Clippers will win, especially if they play Eric Gordon for some more minutes than they did the Lakers. And of course, Blake Griffin should outplay Arthur 1 one 1. And Jordan is good in pick and roll offense from what I saw, while Hasheem Thabeet looks bad in pick and roll defense.

grizz32ParticipantIt will be a tough game. It will probably be our defense against their offense. Thabeet can deffinately stop Jordan. Young will hold his own against Gordon. It really depends how arthur plays

IndianaBasketballParticipantIf Mike Taylor plays well, the Clippers will win. He hasn’t played well nor looked like a rotation point guard IMO.
I expect Griffin and Jordan to play extremely well considering they’re matched up against Authur and Thabeet. I expect Gordon to be even more aggressive this game and shoot 10 plus free-throws. Clippers win by 5-10 points.

gatorheelsParticipantThey play tonight at 10:30 ET. Should be a great game to watch. I want see if Thabeet can cause Grffin &or Jordan any problems. I think that is the key to the game. If Thabeet can alter their shots then I think the Grizzlies will win. Arthur is tough, he can hold his own in the post. I think Memphis has the better bench. I also predict Carrolll will give Medley a lot of trouble. Carroll is just so active. Marcus Williams has an edge over Taylor. I expect Williams will continue to play great. He can really pass. Overall should be a great one but I have to say that Memphis will win….i just have a feeling

Mr. BasketballParticipantwho cares if williams has the advantage, maybe carroll does too, but who the hell is going to stop gordon? o and who is going stop griffin? arthur? plus, jordan is too athletic and strong for thabeet. thabeet is not good at guarding strong players. remember blair? DJ is 280 so good luck thabeet.

gatorheelsParticipantI’m tired of people saying Thabeet can’t play defense because he got dominated by Blair one game. I bet Thabeet causes Jordan & Griffin fits tonight. You can’t deny the FACT that Thabeet has a major impact on the defensive end.

Mr. BasketballParticipantnot in the pick and roll… thabeet can’t guard the pick and roll which is the main thing used in the nba. therefore no, thabeet will not give them fits tonite.

gatorheelsParticipantYou may be right about the pick & roll. That is a good point I didn’t think about that. I’m looking forward to the game tonight. I think Thabeet still has the length to cause Griffin & Jordan problems. I just have a feeling Memphs is going to win. This should be fun to talk about tommorow haha. I expect the size of Memphis to prevail.

j1232eParticipantwill win at least one defensive player of the year awards. I say at least one because i think more than one.

Stanford hoopsParticipantand thabeet showed hes not as bad at the pick and roll as ya’ll think..also i think d jordan only had 2 points
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/17/2009 - 8:07am #183387

gatorheelsParticipantEven if Gordon would’ve played the Grizzlies still would win.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/17/2009 - 10:35am #183505

Mr. BasketballParticipantwho the hell cares, its summer league! thabust sucked. he had 0 blocks, 2 rebounds, and 6 points. sounds like ur #2 pick in an NBA draft to me! ha.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/17/2009 - 11:53am #183570

IndianaBasketballParticipantGordon is averaging 22 points per game. If you don’t think him playing would’ve changed the outcome of that game, then you’re not thinking clearly. Clippers is right though… It’s only summer league. Let’s argue about this when the real season starts. I’d rather see EJ vs OJ anyway.
