unaznizedParticipantfor the past 6 years, yao has been the starting center for the western all-stars. but now that he’s most likely out for the whole season and with shaq moving back to the east, who’s your pick to be the starting center for the 2010 all-star game for the western conference?

NYK2010ParticipantShould be Tim Duncan but they say he’s a PF. If Bynum starts thats just a joke, I’d like to see Nene, Okur or Amare start at Center.

SpencerIsHawesomecould be gasol

JordanC20ParticipantI think it might be Amare

RUDEBOYI THINK THE SUNS WILL MOVE AMARE BACK TO CENTER..SO IF HE’S HEALTHY..HE’LL BE STARTING FOR THE WEST…IF ODEN STAYS HEALTHY..HE MIGHT GET A LOOK..BUT THERE ARE SOME OTHER CAPABLE GUYS LIKE NENE, CAMBY, JEFFERSON AND OKAFOR…

McWinningParticipanti think Jefferson will be the center since he will probably play center next to Love most of the season, Okafor as the backup.

foxman2slyParticipantTimmy has played center since The Admiral left, but Pop wants him to go down as the greatest PF ever. We know the real deal – he jumps center at the start of the game, is the tallest and biggest player on his team, plays the other center most of the time, except when strategy dictates that he is the double teamer for foul trouble purposes. The other teams center guards him most of the time, exception for foul trouble. Does anybody really think that Matt Bonner or McDyess is a center – even espn.com has Timmy at center on their depth chart.
That being said the starter can be a big PF so it will be Timmy, Pau or Amare – maybe Big Al or Bynum.

MkadozaParticipantbut a healthy Camby (paradox?), Al Jefferson, Okafor, or Oden should make pushes. Remember that the fans vote the center in, so it still could be Yao (how laughable would that be), or Bynum with LA behind him. I personally hope Oden shows All Star flashes. He’s been labeled a bust way too soon by some people because of how ridiculously good Durant’s looking right now.

R-Dot-13ParticipantNene, Okafor, Biedrins, Al Jefferson?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 7:09am #198583

MagikKnickParticipantOkafor, Beidrins, Jefferson
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 7:17am #198586
Michael.S.ParticipantOk, I can see Okafor, Beidrins, and Camby getting a look to possibly make the squad, but start? You have got to be kidding me, the only real possibilities at this spot are Gasol, Duncan, or Amare.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 7:24am #198588

MagikKnickParticipantIn past all-star ballots Duncan, Amare, and Gasol have been listed as Power Forwards
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 7:26am #198591

R-Dot-13ParticipantMagikknick is correct, they are listed as power forwards, so other players are gonig to have a chance this year..

JoeWolf1There are a lot of guys ahead of him, I think Stodamire will start, but I think Okafor playing with Chris Paul and a playoff caliber team will greatly help his career, he is an upgrade from Chandler who was an 11 and 11 guy in that system. A fresh start with his defensive ability and less of offensive role, he could have a 15, 11 and 2 year and make a push for a backup in the all-star game
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 8:11am #198629

R-Dot-13ParticipantGasol and Stoudamire and Duncan are all PF on the ballot, so unless that changes, they will not be the starting C.
Which leaves
Jefferson
Biedrins
Okafor
Nene
Camby
Bynum
Okurall as possibilities.
IMO, it will be Jefferson that will start.
Biedrins, Okafor, or Nene as the backup .0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 10:40am #198716

JNixonParticipantI think it will be Al Jefferson.

JoeWolf1fans vote on that stuff its gonna be Yao
It always used to frustrate the hell out of me when Grant Hill or Penny Hardaway would get voted in as a starter despite playing like 5 games before an all-star break,…kids filling out ballots at McDonalds and the entire country of China will pick their favorite players and players that they know whether they deserve it or not, since Yao won’t be playing next season, i don’t remember if they pick the #2nd vote getter (which i think will be Greg Oden) or the coaches pick, so if its the #2nd vote getter my money is on Oden and if the coaches vote in i’d put my money on Bynum or Gasol depending on Bynum’s injury status and what they list Gasol as on the ballot

ckowalskiParticipantDoesn’t fan voting only count for part of their selection though? If fan voting was the only thing that counted Yi and Yao would be starters every year.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 10:51am #198724

JoeWolf1It was always the starting teams, unless they changed it
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 10:54am #198727
j1232eParticipantyao will be one of the top voted players for the allstar games because of china. Also Yi has a very good chance to be a starting forward for the eastern squad!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 10:55am #198731

R-Dot-13ParticipantYeah, they always vote for the starters, but will Yao be on the ballot?
But yeah, Yao and Yi are always possible starters because of it .
I can see it now..
Starting Guard for your western conference all stars…SUN YUE!

JoeWolf1Kobe coming off the bench in place of Yue in the All-Star game!
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 10:59am #198733
xbadgerhustlerParticipantlol, if only it was yue starting over kobe… kobe is basically worshipped in many asian countries, which is why he never gets shafted like that.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 11:01am #198734

R-Dot-13ParticipantI guess that means CP3 will have to come off the bench..
shame .0 - Posted on: Mon, 08/10/2009 - 11:02am #198735

MagikKnickParticipantI always thought it was dumb for famous people, especially bball players to do international commercials that they dont understand…
You could think your saying”This awesome new productive has been sold in millions of homes”
but you really could of said “Im a damn idiot because i dont understand shyt im saying”
