if I’m the hornets I aim for

    10th: Zach LaVine

    24th: Pj hairston

    45th: Jarnell Stokes

I hope Jordan and Choo get this draft somewhat right

Im a homer with the hornest, wish they would make some good draft moves, based in the fact they want to bring in an extra star from free agency at SG or SF, if they can bring in Deng or Stephenson amongst other and maybe a back up PG too

I wish there was some way for them to draft TJ Warren and PJ Hairston but Im guessing they both would be gone before the 24 pick that charlotte has and both of them are a reach with the 9 pick, if the was a way for tem to get them both then great. Im not high on Doug McD. like others b/c i feel the hornets can and will address having a shooter with the 24 pick or in FA, also to me Doug is no SG or SF, at his size and lack of athleticisim he would be a bad fit for the hornets.

In the second round it would be nice to get DeAndre McDaniels and sign Russ Smith if he dosent get drafted

Hornets pick 9th…. You’re selling your favorite team short.

Since I’m from Charlotte (I’m not the real Nick Young, I know, it’s a shock) I really want the Hornets to not screw this draft up. They have a above average PG in Kemba and a very above average C in Big Al. I don’t think the fans will accept back-to-back lottery picks spent on PF, so that leaves the wings. I personally think they should go SF over SG, since MKG literally has no shot beyond ten feet.

So at 9 they should go SF, and the best SF available at 8 is Rodney Hood, who, unlike MKG, can shoot. If Hood is already taken, their best options are Saric, McDermott and Anderson. I consider all of them reaches, something you shouldn’t do in the lottery. So if Hood is taken, they should go SG instead. Both Harris and Stauskas will most likely be still available, and Stauskas has a slight edge over Harris IMO.

If they went SF at 9, 24 should be used for a SG. I believe James Young won’t be taken before 24, which would be a good pickup, although I wouldn’t mind Hairston. If they went SG at 9, 24 should be used for a SF. Cleanthony Early would be great for a late first. If he’s gone, which I doubt, Grant from ‘Cuse could also work.

I’m a strong believer in 3 point shooting and I don’t value 2nd rounders, I think they should use this pick (45)on a 3 point specialist. First name that comes to mind is Bader from Oakland, but surely there are others options.

but I would go with Stauskas at 9, KJ McDaniels at 24 and either Dwight Powell, Patric Young or Johnny O’Bryant at 45.  Much needed shooting on the wing, a possible replacement if MKG can’t figure things out (not looking likely) and frontcourt depth, which never hurts.  A backup G could be an option at 45 too if they think McRoberts will be back.

well in reality we are NOT drafting 3 rookies. One will be a draft and stash, or someone will buy one our lower picks. But as far as answering the post’s question, I think stauskas at 9 (gotta feeling McDermott will be gone), hairston or grant at 24 and kj mcdaniels in the 2nd round

James Young would be a good possibility and he can play both the 2&3, I think he has more potential than Hood but that’s just me.

The Hornets are set at center, point guard too.  Zeller was drafted to be the power forward of the future, if they sign McRoberts to a new and much larger deal then power forward is set for them.

Henderson and MKG make similar money, that is interesting, and they have Neal behind Henderson and Taylor coming back from injry behind MKG.

Small forward is something to look at first.  If they do bring back McRoberts, with his passing and outside shooting at power forward, then if A Gordon is around maybe the Hornets could grab him.  If not, the best shooter available has to be McDermott.  Jefferson has extra defenders on him, a few passes and McDermott hits the open shot.

Harris, Stauskas, J Young, Hood, Saric, other options at 9.

At pick 24, maybe someone will slide.  Maybe a backup for Walker at point guard will be an option at that pick.

Pick 45, a tall project.  Or get McAdoo for the local fans.
