valentineI don’t consider guys like Jefferson, Horford, David Lee ect…..
1. Dwight Howard
2. Pau Gasol
3. Tim Duncan
4. Andrew Bogut
5. Joakim Noah and Brook LopezI think Gasol qualifies as a center. He’s the best big man in the West.

llperezif we consider duncan a center, then this is how i expect the top 5 to look next year:
1-Dwight Howard
2-Tim Duncan
3-Yao Ming
4-Brook Lopez
5-Andrew Bogut
andrew bynum would be 6th

FDAPOI forgot about Yao….
I say Noah and Lopez are still better because of how fragile Yao is….

JNixonParticipant1. Dwight Howard
2. Yao Ming (if healthy)
3. Tim Duncan
4. Andrew Bogut
5. Brook Lopez0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 3:20pm #357079
FDAPOBogut is better than Lopez and definitely better than Bynum.
If the Lakers had Bogut instead of Bynum I would put a lot of money on the Lakers to 3peat. And Bogut would’ve probably been a 20-15-3 guy on the Nets last season.

fastdanParticipant1. Gasol – Dwight can’t pass, hit free throws, and can barely create for himself while Gasol is among the best in those catagories in the league. Dwight is a liability on the offensive end, while Gasol is great on both sides of the ball.
2. Dwight – his shotblocking and rebounding skills are still the best in the league and that’s why he leapfrogs everyone else who’s actually good at playing basketball.
3. Duncan – Not the same as he use to, but he’s still got enough in the tank.
4. Bogut
5. Ming

llperezif gasol is a center, then he is top 2 along with dwight howard.

dipt1982ParticipantSorry, I disagree completely…when Bynum was healthy last season, he had some monster games, if he was healthy on a bad team, he could average 25-15-3 too, but he’s on a good team still having great games…
I still think Bogut is really good, but I just don’t think he;s better than Bynum, maybe Lopez, that was a quick reaction pick…if anything, I would change my opinion to…
1. Howard
2. Duncan
3. Ming
4. Bynum
5. Bogut
with the 6 spot going to Lopez…but talent wise, Bynum is leaps and bounds ahead of Bogut, he hasn’t even tapped his ceiling, whereas Bogut is as good as he’s gonna be, which is not bad, but his ceiling has been hit already IMO…0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 3:27pm #357092

dipt1982ParticipantPau Gasol is not a center people, he plays the 4 while Bynum plays C, if Bynum is hurt, then Gasol may play the 5, but he’s not a every day C…

TRC1991ParticipantI’m considering Duncan and Gasol PF’s
1) Dwight Howard
2) Yao Ming
3) Andrew Bogut
4) Chris Kaman
5) Brook Lopezhonorable mention:
Al Horford
Joakim Noah
Andrew Bynum

MagikKnickParticipantMozgov!!!!!!!!!! lol jk
1. Dwight Howard
2. Pau Gasol
3, Tim Duncan
4. Andrew Bogut
5. Joakim NoahNormally I wouldnt include Gasol as a C, but according to 82games.com, he plays the majority of his time at the C position, so I guess a C he is. As for Yao, I tried to base mine off of last season, so Yao doesn’t count..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 3:49pm #357142

dipt1982ParticipantThe only reason he played most of the year at center is because Bynum was hurt…
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 3:51pm #357146

Da1potParticipantYou guys are forgetting about Kaman, top 5 statistically speaking out of all centers in the NBA.
here are my top 51. Dwight Howard-18.3,13.2
2. Pau Gasol-18.3, 11.3
3.Tim Duncan- 17.9, 10.1
4. Chris Kaman- 18.5,9.3
5.Brook Lopez- 18.8, 8.6I consider Duncan and Gasol centers because thats where each play the majority of their minutes. This is based on last season, otherwise, Iwould probably have Yao as the number two center…

doubledribblerParticipantFunny how there is such a big debate about Gasol. He doesn’t play center all game or even every game, but he logs a lot of minutes there. Some guys can actually play multiple positions effectively. He just happens to be one of them. When Odom is in the game, which actually quite a bit, where does Gasol play? Pretty sure it’s center. It doesn’t matter if Bynum was hurt or on the roster or traded. That has nothing to do with where he is playing. Even when Bynum is somewhat healthy the big man rotation is going to stay the same because there is not much else on that bench after Odom and their rotation allows them to have some combination of Gasol, Bynum and Odom at all times.

Andrew Bynum
Andrew Bogut

RickyRubio9Participant1. Yao Ming (If actually healthy, this guy has the best post moves in the game, & very underrated defense, & I’m biased)
2. Dwight Howard (Defensive Monster, Offensively.. Eh not so much)
3. Andrew Bogut (He’s starting to put it together! :O )
4. Brook Lopez (He’s good, but c’mon, the Nets were horrible. I didn’t watch much of him, but I think alot of people could’ve put those numbers up in NJ)
5. DeMarcus Cousins..Jkidding, I don’t know who to put at this spot, (: Don’t “Negate” Me bro!0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 8:17pm #357353

dwilks101586Participantduncan is not a center
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 9:53pm #357369
bobbybParticipantTop Centers
1. Dwight- His defensive dominace/rebounding is so overwhelming that he is that much better on defense than any PF/C is on offense
2. Pau- yes he is a 4 when Bynum is in however he played so much at the 5 so i consider him a 5. To me it matters who finishes games not starts them. he has 18 reb ( 9 off,) in the final game. I think the soft label should be forgotten.
3 Duncan – he is a 5 not a 4, he is a low post player who guards the opposing teams biggest player, he is a center
4- Brook Lopez- i might be biased but his post moves are polished and he knows how to get to the line and averages 2 blocks
5 Diesel- have to give credit where it is due
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 10:22pm #357375

butidonthavemoney- Dwight Howard
- Pau Gasol
- Tim Duncan
- Yao Ming
- Andrew Bogut
Brook Lopez deserves consideration, but you are loaded with hobo candy if you put Al Jefferson/Chris Kaman/Andrew Bynum over Howard/Gasol/Duncan/Ming.

NYK2010ParticipantGasol
Yao
Howard
Duncan
BogutHoward is overrated offensively, I put Gasol 1st becaz of his rebounding and offense.
Yao 2nd i’m assuming he’s healthy and back to his 2009 regular season form.
Duncan still on this list but for how long as other younger guys are ready to pass him soon.
1 of those guys is Bogut who had a career year.Sorry but I don’t see Noah, Lopez and Bynum in the top 5 yet.
Esp. Noah can’t see him being top 5 based on intangibles, hustle and rebounding if so Varajeo is very close too than.
Bynum isn’t better than Bogut not sure what your watching he plays with Kobe, Gasol I think ppl forget that.0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 10:37pm #357380

sheltwon3Participanti think Duncan’s game is more of a Center than power forward but they keep saying he is the best power forward ever so it is confusing.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/18/2010 - 11:08pm #357381
NYK2010ParticipantBogut and Bynum both played 5 years in the league Bynum is 3 yrs younger but somehow Bogut is as good as he’s going to get at 26 and Bynum is just getting scratching the surface. Bynum is still injured most of the time and hasn’t improved much since 2008 actually he’s regressed outside of his ft shooting. Bogut had a career year and even though he had a freak injury he doens’t have a history of knee problems like Bynum does outside of missing 40 plus games 2 years ago.

FDAPOhahah there is no way Yao is better than Howard. Wow, I can’t believe people still say that even though we know Yao is a grandpa….
Yao is hardly a top 5 center if you consider guys like Duncan and Gasol centers.
Andrew Bogut is definitely better than Yao.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/19/2010 - 11:35am #357548

Demarcus OnealParticipantReally Yao is hardly a top 5 center have you been only watching basketball since 2009 because before his injury Yao or Howard were the two best centers in the NBA and Gasol and Duncan are not Centers
