Call me crazy, but I don’t go with a NBA team… Or a college team… But if I can have any duo, I would roll the dice and get Hillcrest’s Bagley and Ayton. If this was somehow allowed, and you were a GM, what would you pick?

     Porzingis Melo

    Myles Turner Paul George

Any combo where both can hit 3s, and one can protect the rim. Then decide by star power.

Once a team can play two stretch bigs, you can pretty much plug in Ryan Boatwright at point guard and the offense will be efficient.

I don’t know why you got so much neg, Prozingiz potential at 19yo his sky high and also Turner looks like a future superstar in 2-3 years, like a notce below Davis..,

People don’t know talent unless it played in the ACC or SEC or Big 10.

Having said that, I’ve noticed this preseason that Porzingis is distinctly more agile than Turner. He’s going to be dominant defending the pick and role in no time. I think Porzingis also has a higher bbiq, or at least right now he makes smarter defensive decisions as far as hand placement and how to defend his man.

Offensively, Porzingis also stands out over Turner, because of his ball handling, agility, and fluidity.

Turner MIGHT have a stronger frame to max out at a higher weight than Porzingis, and his confidence in his own shooting ability is very impressive, like Porzingis.

But both of them play alongside superstars that shoot a bit too much, in Paul George and Melo, so they’re both not in ideal situations to develop as quickly as possible offensively.

But the Knicks are looking like a playoff team right now, so Porzingis in that NYC hype machine is going to get all the media attention he could hope for.

Turner not so much, in Indy.

Definitely not the best, but certainly capable and intriguing. I like the combination of DeMarcus Cousins and Willie Cauley-Stein. No other tandem can match the level of offense/defense that compliment each other perfectly. Cousins defense is also very respecable and I am hopeful that WCS will develop a recognizable offensive game as he develops in the NBA. DeMarcus ceiling is MVP caliber although he would never win it and WCS could one day very well be a DPOY candidate in the future.

I like the Jazz, Gobert has a very high ceiling, and while it feels like Derrick Favours has been in the league for a decade he’s still only 24. Can’t wait to see how they grow together, especially if Favours develops a reliable mid range jumper to go alongside Gobert diving to the rim for dunks.

It has to be Noel, Okafor and Embiid. If Embiid can stay healthy than they have a 3 headed monster and even when Saric comes over he’ll play some 4. I think the sixers have the best to build around because they have so many pieces that can turn into attractive trade assets too.

There’s a very clear log jam in the front court. Unless, they play Saric at the 2, Noel at the 3, Okafor at the 4, and Embiid at the 5. Then next year, they can pick Skal and they have their PG of the future. I feel bad for the teams that have to face that lineup.

I really like the bigs my hawks have. Yes they’re not as good as some of the others mentioned on this thread, but Millsap and Horford are a great 4/5 combo, despite Horford being a true PF.

but I can’t wait to see Tim Duncan & LaMarcus Aldridge…

As far as the future I like:

    Gobert / Favors

Cousins / WCS – still both Favors & Cousins were Drafted 2010, so they are in their prime

as far as pure young Front Court to build on – it’s hard not to really like Okafor & Noel & the way Embiid was supposedly destroying NBA vets in 5 on 5’s & 3 on 3’s last spring it’s impossible not to let your mind wander & think about a 3-headed monster of Embiid (20), Noel (21) & Okafor (19) – I can’t ever remember Three 7 footers all Drafted in the top 3 in 3 straight drafts on the same team – that would be wild…

yeah.. obviously for the future and potential philly looks awesome up front. and for current skillz aldridge and duncan (on paper, because i havent seen any action of them playing together yet, just have high hopes). but one no-one mentioned (again not to "build around"), pau gasol and nikola mirotic had some great plays last year. maybe best frontcourt for passing around the rim, both can step out and shoot it, pau from midrange and mirotic from 3. not outstanding rim protectors i know, which is why they didnt get too much 5 + 4 action, i just liked watching them on the offensive end when it happened last year

    Myers Leonard and Mason Plumlee.

If I had to pick one right now to build around Id seriously consider Okafor and Noel. Obviously its too early to tell, but I can see them complementing each other very well. Okafor can help hide Noels non offence and Noel can help hide Okafors poor defence, which I truley believe will get better over time. Not the the point where he is a defensive anchor at center but one that can at least hold his own against the other bigs in the league.

Now is I had to pick any 4/5 duo right now, my top three would be Gasol/Randoph  Duncan/Aldridge and Noah/Gasol. they all seem to compliment eachother the only one have to see would be duncan and aldridge but i dont see that being a problem.

    Clippers: Griffin and Jordan

    Grizzlies: Randolph and Gasol

Sixers: Noel, Okafor, and Embiid (although none of them are true 4s, it’ll work out)

    Jazz: Favors and Gobert

    Heat: Bosh and Whiteside

    Pelicans: Anderson and Davis

    Spurs: Aldridge and Duncan

    (SLEEPER) Lakers: Randle and Hibbert
    (SLEEPER) Bucks: Parker and Monroe

So basically, a lot of teams have pretty good frontcourts

Anthony Davis is a great big man to build around.

Not sure what to put next to him.  He is not really a center, but he does some things like a 5 does such as block shots, dunk, and rebound at a high rate.  He can shoot but he is not a stretch 4.

Put a versatile 7 footer next to him?  Don’t know.  You would hope you can go small a ton and put AD at the 5, but he would probably get worn down, and then you still need a plus defender next to him (I am thinking of you, Ryan Anderson).

    ok, ok…

Myers Leonard and Mason Plumlee aren’t the best bigs on paper.  BUT, I really like what they can potentially bring to the table.  Myers as an athletic center who can hit 3’s.  And Mason is a guy who, if you track him for fantasy basketball he is always putting up 22/10 and 18/9 every night when given the minutes.  Mason also is a solid athlete and is built like a 7 foot, pasty refrigerator.

Two young, athletic 7 footers should work on a team with Damian van Lillard.  Then you find out who the complementary scorer next to DVL should be.  Finally get the best 3 and D wing to fill out the starting five, and I think you are in good shape.

Bosh and Whiteside would be my picks for the potentially most dangerous big man combo on a veteran contender team.

Then Zach and Marc have to be there somewhere too.  Not as long as Bosh and Whiteside, although we DID have Whiteside on our preseason team last year.  OUCH.  … Big Marc and Z Bo just make things REALLY DIFFICULT for the other teams.

Aldridge and Duncan sound good on paper, but I am not 100% sold.  LMA feasted on inefficient mid-range jumpers and uncontested rebounds.  Sort of the same offensive skill set as Duncan with worse passing and intangibles.  On D, neither are freakish athletes.  I bet they miss Splitter defensively.

Anthony Davis doesn’t have a specific best partner.  I don’t see that as a downfall.  He works equally well with a stretch 4/5 or another rim protecter.
