weballin.netParticipantIt appears Melvin Frazier decided to stay in this draft, which could end up being be very deep. I feel like several other prospects, most notably Fernando or Vanderbilt should come back to school as next year’s draft seem less stacked. Even with good feedback from NBA scouts, these players need to be more impactful or transform average skills into strengths. Do you have other players in mind

Memphis MadnessParticipantHamidou Diallo: he has upside and athleticism but is raw. If he came back he could still be that guy with another year to scout his weaknesses BUT this site has him mocked at 47 and I don’t really see his draft stock falling much below that.
BUT, if he had a great year or even a really solid year, I can see him being a top 15 pick with an outside shot at being in that 5-10 range.
Malik Newman is mocked in a similar range. Newman is less athletic but probably more skilled. He could parlay his NCAA Tourney into a better year at Kansas next year. However, that team could be loaded (with the Lawson brothers joining), and he lacks freakish athleticism which many equate to "upside". Plus he has already been in school for a couple of years. Maybe his draft stock is as hot as it is going to get — and I have Malik Newman in the mid-first round range (he has some Donovan Mitchell things).
I don’t see anyone else really soaring up the draft boards with another year at a major college program — or A year at ANY college program as the case would be with Mitchell Robinson and Anfernee Simons.
Simons has a pretty good draft projection.
Mitchell Robinson does too. On paper, he COULD be a top 5-10 pick next season. On the other hand, maybe the kid is a MAJOR head case.

sweaterflexParticipantI usually think that if a player has a first round guarantee they should go, but next year looks like a really weak draft, especially for primary ball-handlers. I’m not a big Collin Sexton fan, but I think he would go top 5 next year.
I think Diallo will bust but he has to go, I think Keldon Johnson is already better. I like Vanderbilt a bit more but playing time is always scarce in UK’s frontcourt and Calipari won’t do a better job of developing his jumper than an NBA shooting coach would.
De’Anthony Melton is a guy who could be a lottery pick next year if he got cleared, but the FBI stuff may make it not worth the risk.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantDonte Divencenzo is a name that instantly comes to mind. Don’t get me wrong, if he gets good feedback in the pre-draft process and looks like a first round lock I could definitely understand the argument why he should. I just think another year in jay Wright’s program in a more featured role could make him more ready to actually play and contribute in the nba right away.
But, then again, if the guaranteed money is there how can you really advise someone to walk away from it, especially if there is no guarantee it will be there in the future. Ask someone like Grayson Allen, who would’ve likely been a first rounder in 2016 and now will probably be lucky to even get drafted at all.

weballin.netParticipantwhere it’s very hard to make a choice. He had good stats for the champion, with a MOP performance in the championship game. Yet, with all the other good guard entering the draft, he’s not 100% sure to be a first rounder. Let’s see who stays in

Evan_MilbergParticipantKris Wilkes, Lindell Wigginton, and Tyus Battle all come to mind.

The GoatParticipantAnfernee Simons is a major project now and people are still mocking him in the 1st round. If he performs well next year he’d be a lotto pick for sure. To me, that he is declaring now signals alarm bells are ringing. I think his people know if he plays college next year, there’s a big risk he won’t be a first round pick.
I haven’t seen a lot of him but from what I did see, at the moment he doesn’t have the IQ or passing and that shot release may need to change.
I think the player and his people genuinely know and they have to make decisions based on the market . I think if he knows hes a genuine talent, he shouldnt be in the draft cos he’d be top 10 next year Staying in tells me this is his best chance to be drafted first round.
