Which college basketball team do you think will suprise people next season?

Mine team to be on the rise is Rutgers(as a fan) for reasons such as

    1. Mike Rice- has really changed the attitude for the program, instilling a defensive mentality into his players, giving them confidences as well as nabbing some pretty good recruits such as Myles Mack, Jerome Seagears, Kadeem Jack, and also kansas st. and former all american Wally Judge(will be eligible 12-13 season), they also bring back some players such as Gilvydas Biruta. Dane Miller,Mike Poole and Anthony Johnson. He was the perfect coach to rebuild this program, along with assistant coach David Cox and Jimmy Martelli who have ties to recruiting through aau which bring in more recruits in the near future.

My Prediction for next season- I feel next season will be a big step in the right direction for rutgers, but since their are a lot of freshman coming and some veterans graduated(coburn, Mitchel), I can see them starting out a little inconsistant early in the season to develop more chemistry( Mike rice made them par take in a summer league so this is developing as we speak), but I think they will make a run and finish above .500 record overall and top 10 in big east probably making the NIT in the process. That may not be a big accomplishment for most teams, but when your losing for so long its a good start.

Alright I did my choice, now its your turn.

I think any small school that has a senior pg that can flat out score has a chance to be a suprise school

My first one is Weber State simply because they have Damion Lillards

Also teams with alot of seniors could be suprise teams

Oregon – They added transfers Devoe Joseph from Minnesota, Olu Ashaolu from Louisiana Tech, to go along with Jabari Brown should help turn them into a PAC 12 contender

Indiana Hoosiers…they have almost everyone coming back this year and add Cody Zeller and the 2012 class right now is the No.1 class and there is a good chance they will add Gary Harris to that class

The Missouri Valley is going to be the best Mid-Major next year. It would not surprise me if Wichita State, Creighton, Missouri State, and UNI all spend parts of next year in the Top 25.

    this season

    1. miss st. – sidney and moutrie will make a difference down low, and dee bost is a sleeper at the point

    2. baylor- loaded, 2 bonafide studs, gonna be a really solid team, big chance to win the conference

    long term

    1. baylor- jones…q-miller…isiah austin…somehow scott drew turned the program completly around and is landing some big time prospects, i look for that to continue

    2. rutgers- mike rice is sleeper as a coach, personally i think in a few years we will be mentioning him as one of the best coaches in the country…hopefully RU can keep him there

The have a great young coach in Grant and alot of talent seems to be interesterd in Alabama .

Rutgers as well- I see im not the only one who thinks RU is on the rise. Rice is a tremendous coach. If he can keep some of the great in-state talent at home things will turn around fast.

Tom Crean seems to be adding to his recruiting resume by adding the ability to recruit 6-8+ players.

Indiana will be a national power again in a few years. Big-time recuits are heading to Indiana. A Resurgence is approaching

i expect them to be competitive next year although i dont know if they will make the tournament. But the Oregon DUcks are defenitely headed in the right direction long term. A brand new state of the art arena. A brand new coach who is established in dana altman. They already pulled one of their better recruits in years this season in jabari brown. They have the whole football/nike/cool uniform/cool court thing going for them. Plus oregon is a beautiful state that recruits should love to live and get away from the big inner city life. I can see good things coming from the Ducks.
