I keep hearing all this talk about the Knicks wanting to sign Ramon Sessions and now Jamaal Tinsley, but what about Raymond Felton? With Bob Johnson trying to sell the team because of all their financial loses, I’m pretty sure if the Knicks made a push for Felton with about the same money, they was going to offer Sessions or a lil’ more, they could’ve landed him because the Bobcats could fall back on DJ Augustin and just sign a cheap backup, to come off the bench for him…Felton was the 3rd point guard selected in the 2006 NBA Draft, after Deron Williams and Chris Paul, and the 5th overall pick in all…He’s a winner, as he proved in college, leading North Carolina to a championship in 2006…Also he relished in Roy Williams up tempo offense, so he would be a perfect fit for Mike D’ Antoni’s system…In his 4 years playing for the Bobcats, Felton never really got to just go and do what he wanted, so I personally feel he still has a lot of upside to improve as a player, he just has to be in the right situation…Him on the Knicks would be a great fit…What do u guys think?

I agree 100%. I’m not sure why we aren’t hearing about any teams being interested in Felton. Charlotte is a dumb team this offseason that is all I know. They are likely going to let Felton sign somewhere else. They let Sean May go. They traded Okafor. They drafted Augustin over Anthony Randolph which was a huge mistake especially when they already had Felton. This organization is headed downhill. Whichever teams scoops up Felton is going to be happy.

It just goes to tell you that great players (Michael Jordan) are not always a great judge of talent. Not only did they pass up on Anthony Randolph, they passed up on B. Lopez who was exactly who they needed.

Drafting Henderson & Brown this year wasn’t good either. They should’ve picked James Johnson & Jodie Meeks IMO.

Put Felton with more talent, and people will see what he can do. He likes to pass the ball, but has had no options his whole career thus far.

Felton is a good player for a bad team holding him back he aint no superstar but with a right team he can become at least a two time all star. I think any other draft felton would be good but he came out with cp3 and d-will.

I’m confused by the whole thing. He is too good of a player not to be generating some serious interest. He’s young and he’s going to be cheap because no one has money left. I can think of plenty of good teams that he would be an excellent fit for. I think he really gets overlooked because of the draft that he was in (with Williams and Paul) and he’s been playing in Charlotte. I can understand Charlotte not having a great interest in him, only because I think they want Augustin to start.

I don’t really like to throw out pretend trades, but is it possible that Charlotte would do a sign and trade with the Lakers? Felton for Farmar straight up?

Didn’t felton average like 7 or 8 assist in a season once? Thats pretty good for the talent he was surrounded with.

Over like 4 seasons he averaged 14pt, 7 assists, and 1.5 steals. Very underrated player. Look at the talent around him and the coaches he had to deal with (before LB) to put a lot into perspective. If he ever develops a consistent jumper, he could be a star. Read an article that said he is shaping up, if his shots gets consistent, to be like Chauncey Billups. Both are similar in size and Billup’s career started slow.

He is overlooked because of Paul/Williams. He did get the Bob Cousy award in college over both of those guys his junior year, though.

doubledribbler- No way that sign&trade would happen. Felton is way better than Farmar. If the Lakers throw in some cash &or a draft pick then that deal would work.

I just read some rumors and apparently Charlotte isn’t done making offseason moves which is a good thing since they have taken a step backwards thus far. If they want to make the playoffs then they better get an upgrade at SG, resign Felton, & get some more low post help. They need to make some trades IMO. I would shop Bell & Wallace & see what they can get in return. A sign&trade involving Felton isn’t a bad idea also. I think Augustin can start, I like his game.
