I’ve read on hoopshype that the kings are looking for a big….and with players like lee….big baby…just floating around without any big news of any contracts…why aren’t the kings going for these guys? The kings have close to 6 million in cap space…i strongly suggest somebody like big baby. He’ll bring paint filler with an occasional jumpshot and also rebounds and defense…and take the load off of thompson and hawes.

Also…heisley(grizzly owner) has said that the grizzlies are a last resort for iverson. Iverson’s talking to the clippers..the heat..and the grizzlies as far as i know. Can some team just snatch him up so we can stop hearing about this guy?!………

Does anybody have any news on the grizzlies? as far as free agency pursuing right now? I think a PF through Free agency (no disrespect to arthur) and a backup SG are in the needs. If they can trade warrick and carrol for a decent SG backup…and if they could just go ahead and keep m.williams(summer league).

    Thank you.

kings should use this cap space immediately. at the end of 09-10, they’ll have players like kenny thomas’ contract coming off the books and other players as well. i think if they use this 6 up, deal with what they have, and next year they’ll have i think close to 12-14 million in open space.

…should keep their capspace. It seems that they like Hawes, Thompson, and Martin. I know I do, though none are great. Evans looks good so far, but I’m not sure if he’ll hurt the development of the others because of his lack of point guard skills. Anyways, the only position that they might really be looking at filling with a starter would be small forward and there are not really any good ones left, especially not for 6 million a year. Besides, if they decide to fill it, it may be easier to do through a trade since they are under the cap.

can you name 2 bigs behind thompson and hawes? they obviously need some help as far as big men. with casspi, garcia and nocioni being able to play the 3…..why would they need another 3?? And at the point they have evans, beno and sergio…which should be able to produce something there……. the largest need is a big man behind thompson and hawes. spend 6 million for a decent big.

brockman played with one of the king bigs in college if i remembered right. he’d be a nice pickup, but would you take him over big baby? if the kings can’t get lee or big baby, i strongly suggest brockman for rebounds.

a real center would be fitting for the kings though. somebody in the area of 6’11-7’1 at 260-280 pounds. a rebound nightmare and defense presence. if he could come in for hawes and let jt play beside him and when jt gets in trouble or plays sloppy, bring hawes in for jt.

Kings need a SF, PF, & Center because……
Thompson is so overrated right now
Hawes is OK but nothing special
Brockman is purely a rebounder that doesn’t do anything else good
Casspi is raw and won’t help any this year
Nocioni is garbage & his contract is terrible
Garcia isn’t a factor & his contract is terrible
Greene is a flat out bust

Big Baby is WAY better than Brockman. I guarantee you if the Kings would sign Big Baby he would take the starting job from Thompson eventually. David Lee is better than Thompson or Hawes too. The Kings need to spend money now. Their future doesn’t look good at all right now.

I disagree with you gatorhill. They are good at sf and only need to shore up their bigs with physical tough players. Thompson and Hawes are finesse players. If Green can play some 4 maybe that position is set. Nocioni wants to be traded so I would move him and try to get a big. Also Ike Digou will probably resign and he is tough so they are pretty much set at the 4 kinda but they need a big physical Center type. Lee or Big Baby or power forwards but I would say this Lee would at least give you rebounds. There will be a lot of bigs in next year draft so if I was the Kings i would trade Nocioni and just grab some cheap free agents to fill out my line up.

I’ve seen Brockman play. The guy straight out hustles in every play. He has no offensive skills in him though, so big baby is a bigger upgrade.
