There is no article to post but I live in a suburb of Cleveland and on Fox Sports they just said "A source very close to Waiters said either he or Kyrie Irving will not be on the Cavaliers after tomorrow night"

Also, there is talks about a 3 team deal involving Cleveland Boston and Sacramento which would be an absolute blockbuster resulting in the Cavaliers landing the 6th pick, 8th pick, Ben Mclemore and future picks.  As a Boston fan, I would almost want to just keep picks 6 and 8 rather than trade up to #1.

The top 8 prospects all have All Star potential, and if Embiid happened to fall to 6, you’d really regret trading up to #1 when you could have had Embiid/Randle or Embiid/Gordon, or even Embiid/McDermott.

 I’m trying this on the Trade Machine to see what I can come up with. So far we know the trade settles around McLemore to the Cavs, Waiters probably being moved. Rondo is no stranger to trade rumors and he and the Kings have been discussed as potential trade partner before so I could see Rondo going to the Kings. Bogans is involved in the trade to make salaries match. 1st pick gets traded to Celtics. Celtics trade 6th pick to the Cavs. And Kings trade 8th pick also to Cavs. And thats all we know. At that point the trade would not work on the Trade Machine but here is a way it could work:

Cavs Receive: Ben McLemore, Keith Bogans, 6th pick, 8th pick

Kings Receive: Rajon Rondo, CJ Miles

Celtics Receive: Dion Waiters, Derrick Williams, Travis Outlaw and 1st pick.

The Kings could include Thompson, and Carl Landry in the deal instead of Williams and Outlaw. But I also heard the Kings want to bring Rondo’s friend Josh Smith from the Pistons over as well. I think the trade that was discussed there was Landry and Thompson for Smith.

So the starting lineups would probably look something like this:

Cavs: Irving, McLemore, 8th pick (McDermott), 6th pick (Randle), Hawes (re-signed). T. Thompson backs up Randle, and Bennett backs up McDermott.

Celtics: Waiters, Bradley, Green, Sullinger, 1st pick (Embiid). Bayless backs up Waiters, Olynyk backs up Sullinger, Thompson backs up Embiid, and Outlaw backs up Green

Kings: Rondo, Terry, Gay, Williams, Cousins Miles would back up Terry and I. Thomas would be a 6th man off the bench backing up Rondo.

I’m really not liking the deal from the Kings standpoint. That SG spot looks like a huge hole. Maybe they can pry Stuckey from the Pistons in the Josh Smith deal too. I looked at that in the Trade Machine as well and in order for Stuckey and Smith to be traded to the Kings, they would have to send Carl Landry, Jason Thompson, Jason Terry, and Reggie Evans to the Pistons. I also decided to include Tony Mitchell in the deal to compensate for losing Evans. (Mitchell goes to the Kings)

So if that trade goes through as well Kings lineup would be: Rondo, Stuckey, Gay, Smith, Cousins with I. Thomas being the 6th man backing up Rondo, Miles backing up Stuckey, and Mitchell backs up Smith.  Now thats not bad. 

Pistons lineup would be: Jennings, Caldwell Pope, Singler, Monroe, Drummond. Williams would backup Monroe, Terry would back up Caldwell Pope. And I’m not quite sure how Evans and Landry would be included in the lineups. I’m not liking that trade for the Pistons. They are still pretty weak at SG, and SF. And we all know Jennings won’t be on Pistons for too much longer. So maybe the Pistons could deal Landry, Evans, and Jennings to land a SF or SG.

In the end, I do not think the three team trade between the Kings, Celtics, and Cavs will go down. Kings lineup doesn’t look so good. Although I do think its possible that Smith will be moved to the Kings. Maybe not for the players I mentioned, but still Smith ends up with the Kings.

If the Celtics want Embiid that bad, its still possible he could fall to 6th because of his injury. I think it would be better for the Cavs to just stick the picks that they have and get Wiggins. Great defense and a lot of potential for the future. Then they can still draft Capela with their early second rounder. They can also resign Hawes.

I think a lineup of Irving, Waiters, Wiggins, Thompson, Hawes. With Zeller backing up Hawes, and Bennett backing up Thompson and Dellavedova backs up Irving. That lineup could get the Cavs to the playoffs in the East while having to try out new chemistry with McLemore, McDermott, and Randle probably not. I also heard the Cavs were in discussion with the Nets and would send Jarrett Jack to the Nets for Marcus Thornton. He’d be a good backup to Waiters and he would also provide some veteran leadership for their young team. That will be helpful in reaching the playoffs. I do not think the Cavs should make this deal if they want to make the playoffs. Pry him from the Pistons? We’ve been trying to get rid of him for ages and would gladly pack his bags for cents on the dollar. Fortunately, he’s now a free agent and the kings are welcome to sign him outright. The only way he could be included is for him to be signed and traded.
