JRdaFilipinoParticipantWhat undrafted rookie free agent do you think can make an impact this season and what teams do you think they’ll be doing it on?
Players I think can potentially fit this description:
Mac Koshwal: Can be a rebounding specialist off the bench in the Reggie Evans mold, except he is WAY more athletic. I would like to see him in a Knick uniform grabbing the boards and running the court.
Sylvan Landsberg- IMO.. he is too talented to not find an NBA roster spot. On the Kings summer league team, and I think he could make it. Other teams I think he could flourish on is a team like (other than obvious Knicks and Warriors, who wouldnt flourish in their system) Phoenix or Utah.
Scottie Reynolds- can play a similar role to Dan Gibson, not as quick or athletic though but is a proven college player. Any team could use a shooter of his caliber. Could potentially play as a back up PG if in the right situation.
Others definately others but who do you guys think?

Hoops MaestroParticipantHow about Jon Scheyer? A shooter with size (6-6) who played the college game at the highest level, and with the top coaching available. Same for Brian Zoubek — you can’t coach height.

OhCanada-ParticipantParakhouski
Torrance
Thompson

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantDenis Clemente: I’d be shocked if he doesn’t find himself on someone’s opening day roster, much less a summer league team. His combination of outside shooting and speed can make him a real commodity.
Charles Garcia: Could be a versatile defender who can handle the ball on the perimeter.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantI feel bad for Mikhail Torrence. He put his name on the map by playing very well at Portsmouth, yet he didn’t even get drafted. He’ll definitely get a few summer league offers, though.

OhCanada-ParticipantThompson scored 37 at the Portsmouth Invitational. He should find a Roster spot as well.

OhCanada-ParticipantSacramento should pick up Thompson then they would have they Thompson brothers!

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantScottie Reynolds without a doubt will get a spot and play a good amount of minutes, i see him making a Wesley Matthews impact on a Playoff team obviously minus the starting spot but he has already proven to be a good shooter, unselfish player, clutch and a proven winner he can offer a team a lot as a bench player and be a solid contributor on the bench. I really want the Lakers to pick him up , I think the Triangle Offense is something he can really do well in.

Sylvan will be a real good SG off the bench for a Sacramento team that needs shooters.
Manny should be able to make the Cavs roster as the 5th gaurd, i think he could easily take over Gibsons and West minutes as backup SG early in the season and by midseason suplant Anthony Parker as the starting SG.

DaleoParticipantmanny harris will be good, i think if omar samhan slims down, he could make an impact coming off the bench

JJeff6Participantscottie reynolds will make it with the suns and have an immediate impact
pg: nash/reynolds
sg: richardson/dragic/barbosa
sf: hill/dudley/clark
pf: who knows..(amare if he resigns)/lawal
c: lopez/(Frye if he resigns)/Jonesthey will probably sign a few more role playing FA’s, but it shows that Reynolds should get 15-20 min a game…(eventually become nash’s replacement)

billykParticipantDragic is Nash’s replacement… I dont think Reynolds would beat out Dragic as Nash’s backup..
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 5:00pm #342902

JJeff6Participanti read in the paper today that gentry prefers nash and dragic on the floor at the same time. So that would most likely mean that you would see more minutes out scottie as backup pg

will be the PF if Amare leaves. Lawal has the pro body now, but Clark is probably a better fit next to Lopez.
Dragic is a beast in the making, Barbosa will be the 4th gaurd so Reynolds could maybe be the 5th.
If he sticks with them he could see pt if they trade Richardson.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 5:30pm #342935
DaleoParticipanteven though gentry likes dragic next to nash that doesn’t mean he still isn’t his backup. they are a great combo together, but he likes dragic, and as you saw this season with earl clark, i don’t think gentry likes rookies that much, but i could be wrong. I do like the idea of earl clark next to robin lopez. He could kind of be like rashard lewis, not saying he is anything as good as rashard, but in that perspective.

JJeff6Participantwell, either way they have to find a way to give reynolds some significant minutes. also clark hasnt impressed me much at all. even in the summer league last year and during the regular season last year, he just looked lost on the court. He only impressed me in one game and that was when he went 7 for 7 from the field against the Bucks back in November. Hopefully his game gets better this year and he makes a significant impact. And yea Lawal does have the pro body, but i really cant see him starting at all this entire year. So we’ll see, if they can maybe resign channing frye, maybe they could insert him at the pf?

Charlie SheenParticipantYeah I think Sacremento should pick up Ryan Thompson too can you imagine going forward
Guards- Evans and Thompson
Forwards- Greene and Thompson
Center- Cousins
Bench- Casspi, Landry, Whiteside, Udrih and Garcia thats trouble in like 2 years0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 10:55pm #343042
khaled_a_dParticipantwell,Samhan will be with the Mavs in SL,what do you guys think about him?
it seems the Mavs likes him more than Alabi and that is why we have no problem with trading Alabi0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/27/2010 - 11:59pm #343045
johnecoParticipantI like:
Charles Garcia
Mac Koshwal
Brian Zoubek
Mikhael Torrence
Sylvan Landesburg
Ben Uzoh0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 12:57am #343050

omphalosParticipantSamhan won’t make it at the next level, I watching him in the NCAA getting killed by anybody even close to his size who was aggressive. He wouldn’t make an impact in the NBA even if he was signed. I’m hoping Collins works out for the Bobcats. They will likely be in need of a point guard and he could provide a solid backup for DJ.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 9:17am #343221
he may even start! Dallas is weak at center and Samhan should get 15-25 minutes for most of the season.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/28/2010 - 4:12pm #343408

omphalosParticipantZoubek has a better chance at starting than Samhan, he is taller/stronger and is brings better D to the table. Samhan has ego issues too.
