Deron Williams on the Jazz was one of my favorite players. In his last couple seasons with the Jazz he was one of the best if not the best point guards in the NBA. This video shows some of the brilliance of his 09-10 season: youtube.com/watch?v=4sHI0gwaEZs. I really miss that D-Will and hope that he can get back to playing at that level again.

Very strange drop off. Probably caused by injuries, but he just hasn’t been the same since he joined the Nets

It’s weird how it used to be Chris Paul and Derin Williams as THE top PGs in the NBA. Now it’s Chris Paul and whoever happens to be doing good (D-Rose when healthy, Russel Westbrook when him and Durant are connecting, Steph Curry after a 40 point game, Rondo after a triple double in the playoffs, Tony Parker after winning a title)

How about a #flashbrackfriday with the 08 Jazz team with almost 6 guys averaging double digits

    PG-Deron Williams: 18 ppg

    SG-Ronnie Brewer: 12 ppg

    SF-Andrei Kirlenko: 11ppg

    PF-Carlos Boozer: 21 ppg

    C-Mehmet Okur: 14 ppg

Bench- Kyle Korver:9.8 ppg,Paul Millsap: 8 ppg, Matt harping 8 ppg

A couple of nagging injuries and a body type that balloons quickly. After the ankles started giving way, so did the elastic around his waist. Combine that with a suspect character, and you have a recipe for a fall from grace.

Injuries – yes. Bad character – yes. But running Jerry Sloan out of Utah was a huge mistake as well. Sloan may be the most under appreciated coach of all=time. He helped maximize Deron’s abilities. I for one don’t feel sorry for Deron. He deserves his fall from greatness.

Yeah, I remember when he and chris paul were the 2 clear top 2 PGs in the league and there was he debate at who was the top one. I would have thought Paul would have been the first to fall off because he is small and relies on his quickness so much, but somehow he just seems to have to have lost his athleticism and skill, I dont know if he will ever get back to being how good he was in his prime.
