Like centers shooting outside shots, it can be fun to watch the very tall point guard.  It seems plenty of teams would use Anderson at a forward spot but maybe some could try him at point guard.

Orlando, with the versatiltiy of Oladipo it would allow Anderson to cover the guard on the other team that isn’t the main star.

Boston, if they do trade away Rondo and keep A Bradley, then Anderson would be the tall point guard on offense with Bradley as the shooting guard and also the defensive stopper.

Sacramento, if Thomas goes to a new team then Anderson could be his replacement.

Miami, they do have different lineups and it would mean other teams have to use their point guard to defend Anderson or then they will be on James or Wade.

Anderson might be the player with the widest range of where he could be chosen in the draft, late lottery to even early second round.  This site has him at 15 to Atlanta and he would be a very good fit there.  Maybe their Boris Diaw point power forward off the bench.

I don’t understand the negs, you made good points. Many feel that Anderson is not a pg, but the premise is what teams he will fit if he was experimented there. Boston is a good example that you suggested. But for the question of where he’ll go, Ill place him at 15 for my Hawks. Note this is bc I want to win the mock draft contest, not bc I want him. I’m with the group that thinks Anderson will be a bust, but I think Ferry makes his first mistake as our gm and thinks he’ll become the second coming of Diaw. On that note, we did draft Diaw and played him at pg, which was a fail.

If Kyle Anderson were to ever be a full time PG in the NBA, he would average more turnovers than assists. That’s coming from a UCLA fan myself.

Not disagreeing, but if you want to have an intelligent conversation or debate, listen to the premise. Not if he’ll be successful or if he should be a pg, but if he was to be one, what team would dare try this.

Orlando and especially Atlanta are the only 2 situations that I think have the personnel they could put around him for him to be successful handling a good chunk of the playmaking duties.

Indiana. He can definitely pass and use his size to find passing lanes, and set up the offense, something they are looking for someone to do more of. Also his defensive deficiencies would be covered up with Lance Stephenson and Paul George on the perimeter with him and David West and Roy Hibbert backing them up. Frank Vogel talked of how Indiana’s defense is so good, not because of athleticism but because of lenght.

    David West- 7’4.25" wingspan

Roy Hibbert- I’ve seen everything from 7’4"-7’9", it’s long no matter what

    Lance Stephenson- 6’10.5 wingspan

    Paul George- 6’11.25" wingspan

    George Hill- 6’9" wingspan

Kyle Anderson has a 7’2.75" wingspan, in the Pacers defensive scheme his deficiences would be hidden on that end, he actually fits their scheme and he provides the passing and creativity they desire on offense.

Also, hopefully his 48.5% 3 point shooting from college is legit, so he’d still be fine when he doesn’t have the ball.

I think if anyone actually tried to play him at PG they would find out pretty quickly he is just to slow to stay in front of guards at this level.

That’s why he said he needs a situation in which he is not asked to defend a premier guard 😉

Cleveland would be a pretty good fit. Kyrie is a scoring guard and so is Waiters. With Anderson, they would be allowed to play off the ball and thrive.

If he slips, I really like OKC and San Antonio. Thunder need another playmaker simply because they don’t move the ball past their superstars. Him as playmaker would allow Russell to be more aggressive. Spurs, nuff said, Diaw 2.0. I think alot of people make the mistake of thinking because you play a position, you have to guard that position, which is completely false. Just because he plays point doesnt mean he would guard the point or guard position at all.
