anthony_DavIS23ParticipantThere have been some pleasantly surprising rookies this preseason. Obviously Victor Oladipo has been very impressive but there have been guys that were expected to struggle, blossom under the NBA spotlight, such as; Giannis Ad……… the Greek Freak, Rody Gobert and Steven Adams. ( Prediction: will start by playoffs for thunder)
Anyway, what do you guys think? What rookie has impressed you most this preseason?0 - Posted on: Sat, 10/26/2013 - 11:33pm #845590

ChoppyParticipantKelly Olynyk surprised me. Average athleticism but high skill level. Wasn’t as productive through preseason as in summer league, but looking at his overall body of work he has been good.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI felt like this class was deeper on solid players.then people realized. Gobert was a late first rounder who islabeled raw yet hes so long he can completely control the paint I actually thought the Thunder should of drafted him had.Adams not been around.
Speaking of Adams this.guy is.another sleeper. I compared him to.Drummond in college because.he was a.clear physical specimen who.wasnt being utilized right. I think Adams is a better prospect then Len and the Thunder got a steal.
MCW has really translated his game well. Hes meshed seemlessly with other.ball dominant players in Wroten and Turner and has shown the ability to hit the 3 and limit turnovers.
The one rookie ive been most impressed with tho is Dennis Shroeder. I wasnt on the Shroeder hype train before the draft but I am now because this dude is a freak baller. If he doesnt become the best pg from this class itll be because.he didnt work hard enough because the tools are there.

machu46ParticipantI’m with you on most of it, but really Schroeder? He has more turnovers than assists in the preseason and is shooting as poorly as MCW. You can see the potential with him, but he hasn’t been very impressive at all IMO.

BKGingerSnapParticipant7 footers who shoot out to the 3pt line and can get to the basketball are rare. If he cuts his hair people will start taking him seriously.

machu46ParticipantAntetokounmpo has been the most impressive to me just because everyone thought he’d be nothing more than a D-Leaguer this year. I don’t know the exact numbers, but it seemed like he was getting multiple steals and multiple blocks in every game in limited minutes, and he just has such a nice skillset to build off of as he continues to develop his game. He seems like The Natural.
MCW’s shooting numbers have been extremely hit or miss (which isn’t too surprising), but watching him in the pre-season, you can tell he’s really worked on his ball-handling and his 3 point shot looks a little bit better than it was at Syracuse. I like what I’ve seen from him overall.

aramboneParticipantGiannis is also the easiest to root for.
Does Phil Pressey have any competition for Most Surprising? Guy is real impressive for an undrafted rookie for Boston.

Sharp ShooterParticipantKentavious Caldwell Pope….defensively…def has potential to be a defensive stopper in the nba. Offensively….he still finding his shot.

King CaluchaParticipantI didn’t like Oladipo at first, but I must admit he is a solid player. Probably won’t ever be among the top scorers in the league… but he could definitely contribute offensively (unlike MKG).
