aivsdirkParticipantBeen hearing abou tyreke going to the pelicans. eric gordons not happy there. and the kings need have moved on from evans with bmac. heres my idea. nuggets kings and pelicans trade. kings receive Vasquez as a starting pg and Wilson chandler as a starting 3 pelicons in sign and trade receive evans as their starting 2 and nuggets receive eric Gordon alleviating the log jam at 2 guard for the pelicans and not forcing evans to play the 3. Gordon is a legitimate big time scorer and will look to score leaving room for Lawson to facilitate as he can do well and unlike with iggy he has a guy he can pass to and will put points on the board instead of play a second point guard. with money all these guys get payed evan will probally get around 10 mil a year so I think money wise its even as well as talent and fit.

BasketBalAllanParticipantDo you realize that if Tyreke signs with N.O. and the Kings do not match, they could keep Eric and G.V. to work on a trade for someone else?
This would be sort of a last resort for the Pelicans and I am not sure they would even consider it.

aivsdirkParticipanttyreke is restricted so the kings do have more power to use a sign and trade so then they are guaranteed to get something back which would probably be Vasquez that would allow the chips to fall into place adding a perfect scenario with the nuggets

BasketBalAllanParticipantHence why I included “and the Kings do not match”
It depends if the Kings think getting stuck with giving Tyreke a $44mil contract is worth trying to leverage away a player from the Pelicans, which they might not.
Even in that case the Pelicans would still have E.G., meaning it would still be a better idea…

aivsdirkParticipantyea we both pretty much looking at the same coin but favor different sides. if treke signs without trade to new Orleans would you think new Orleans keeps both and put evans at 3 which he did not do well with the kings or give up Gordon in a trade?

BasketBalAllanParticipantIt seems more like I am using a quarter and your looking at a Chuck E Cheese token…
The Pelicans plan to use Tyreke off the bench (as he stated he will not play SF) and (IMO) possibly trade Gordon for a SF.
I was simply pointing out that the original trade would benefit the Kings, be decent for the Nuggets and terrible for the Pelicans.

aivsdirkParticipantyo we both seeing the same situation just a different way of going about it is what I meant. so if evan comes off the bench that means rivers would start. cant co-sign that. if I pay someone over 10 mi a year they are starting unless their amare you know and they can not stay healthy. but I do agree with trading Gordon for a small forward maybe for gallinari or say…chandler

BasketBalAllanParticipantI can see I am going to have to be a bit more clear…
The Pelicans would start Jrue Holiday (the PG the just traded for) and Eric Gordon, they would bring Tyreke off the bench to backup either guard position, this is their plan. I was saying that if this was the case then they should try and trade Eric for a SF so they could start Holiday and Tyreke together.

aivsdirkParticipantif you want to be so technical about grammer as we are not in the classroom I didn’t think I would have to be so perfect. Then needs a comma after it in your second sentence. It would also read better if you wrote it.”Then, I would be able to read your posts.” teamwork lets go

aivsdirkParticipantyes, it does. otherwise his second sentence would be a fragment. or he could combine the first two sentences but then would still nedd a coma after it. booyah again. you know im like a guy who doesnt try but when you bring it out of me i can hold my own.

aivsdirkParticipantwell done with this thread just wanted to make a scenario where kings do not lose evans for nothing and feel the void at small forward while greivas goes somewhere he can still start whish he does deserve and nuggets get a scorer leaving them with something in the loss of iggy. I know many people will not agree with me, but overall my views tend to favor the interest of all or atleast I try

XYRYXParticipantI know Mr. negative points collector and thread creator doesn’t make sense with his theory about his trade proposal but there might be a chance this somehow makes sense for the Pelicans. If they basically swap Rekes and EGs contracts they still have the cap space to aquire another free agent. It’s not really a secret Gordon wasn’t very happy so far and if they really believe he doesn’t want to be there they could ship him right now. If I’m the Pelicans I would try to see how a healthy Gordon and Holiday work out next season. But to get rid of Gordons contract (if they want to) could make sense if they feel they have a chance to get their hands on someone else like Iggy this year. I know this is a major reach and they probably want get get a future pick or two in any deal but this could make sense if they want to keep their financial flexibility this offseason or next year.
I wouldn’t do this if I’m the Pelicans but I see the point if they feel their investment in Gordon was a failure AND they want to keep their cap space. But still not worth the gamble. They can still move either Reke (if they get him) or Gordon midseason if it’s not working out.
In the end I wouldn’t make any more trades if I’m NO. If they can get Reke that’s fine and they are really trying to build a competing team. I they don’t get Reke they should go after Iggy or after AK-47 to round out the roster.

XYRYXParticipantAt least you’re trying to make points for your opinion but still you are wrong here. The original post is truely right. I love Jeff Green and he was the reason why I followed the Thunder in the beginning. He really had bad luck after his disappointing ending with the Thunder and had his Heart beeing repaired but learned on this strong Boston veteran team and will have some big games this year for a rebuilding franchise comming next season! Rubio is not 19 anymore and has grown into his own physically. Still not the most durable point in the league but a very underrated defender and a healthy tall flashy player with incredible feel for the game in a shooting team with only offense will do big damage and I can really see him having John Wall type of level next year for a whole season could earn him Most Improved. I know it’s a bold statement but his ceiling is still a very entertainment version of beeing an elite 2k14 masterpiece beeing a top level team motor and defender. Watch out for him.
